Honeymoon in Philadelphia?

I am getting married on Halloween next year. My fiance Mike and I are planning on going to philadelphia on our honeymoon. We are cosidering taking the Amtrak.... Is anyone from the area or traveled there? Is it relatively easy to get around? Is the public transportation expensive? We are just trying to get a feel for what to expect!!! Any advice or opinion would be great! Just so you know, some places we are planning on going is Eastern State Penitentiary, Mutter Museum, Adventure Aquarium, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Society Hill, Independence Hall, Franklin Court, Edgar Allen Poe National Historic Site, Christ Church, Carpenter's Hall, Betsy Ross House, and Love Park.

....there was that weirdo in Philly that had a foot fedish....but I think they caught him......lol....

if u can...go to the prison in the day and at night....if they r still offering it......and again , if u like different food, the firehouse directly accross the street is neat.

Center city, with another person...u should b pretty safe. My daughter didn't have ne problems all 4 yrs living there...she felt safer there than in Allentown!!

I know u will enjoy ur honeymoon there!!

We are going to carry traveler's checks so they can be replaced and I usually carry cash in my shoe. So if anyone steals my shoe off my feet then we will be in trouble but I should be safe lol I am so excited to go, Eastern State Pen is the HIGHLIGHT of the trip for me!! I can't wait to go!

Philadelphia is a beautiful city, but like Alien mentioned be careful with your wallet and purse.  I grew up just north of Philadelphia and if you enjoy history, you will really enjoy yourself!  Just be careful and I agree take a cab if you can - there are some places you do not want to walk at night.  Usually, your hotel can tell you places to be careful of - good luck!  I think you'll have a lot of fun!!!!

Eastern State Penn is really neat!!...there is a really different restuarnt across the street in an old firehouse.....

if u do go....don't drive...parking is $$$.....another very good resturant is on Broad St...right near City Hall- Italian Bistro.Plus u have a chance to see shows right in the area also.

My daughter went to college in Center city Philly for 4 yrs...so I am  a bit familiar with that area....

Old city is great too.....walking ghost tours!!

I have been to some of those locations maybe you guys could catch a game if your in to that. Travel expense there is the same as most places 5 here 10 there I would take a cab or sub just watch your back pocket you never know lol.
