Yeah they were all LUCKY and its great they had a pilot with a good sense of what to do in a dangerous situation..... I here it was a flock of geese that caused this ? Anyone else?
I just heard it was a bird strike..could have been geese.
I take those regional jets all the time, and frequently fly into Charlotte. Now I have something else to be worried about, I suppose!
Oh thank God that they are all alive !
Weird thing is they say it happens often now thats scary!!!! I dont mean the plane coming down but them hitting brids or ducks ,geese whatever may have wings LMAO...
I remember Oprah was flying to Chicago recently and the plane she was in had hit a bird (or came close to hitting a bird).
They said 80,000 bird incidents since 1990 and 10 deaths so statistically we are ok to fly in the sky
Swampy's cynical self says that half the passengers will file lawsuits against the airline, rather than thanking the crew for saving all their lives.
Wow sounds like God was looking out for those people!
They had some really interesting info on NBC news tonight about the force a goose can have......no i dont remember all the details!!!
Amazing flight crew and once again NYC Firefighters and Coast Guard at their finest!!!
i fly to charlotte frequently too, but not out of st. louis. looked scary!
Wow, I didn't even hear this story yet. Did it just happen today? Scary. Just one more reason why I don't like to fly! I'll drive any chance I get.
I just went and looked at the story online. They're calling it the miracle on the Hudson. Amazing that they got everyone out and they're all ok! Wow.
Ater going on a cruise recently and having someone go overboard, I think I will stay out of the skies for a while! lol
I thought it was so neat the way all those boats immediately went to offer help! It showed that there is still a lot of good in this world. They are a lucky bunch of people. Did anyone hear how many people were on the plane?
yup I am glad everyone got off okay , I heard it early on the car radio, sounds like the pilot knew what he was doing.
Thank goodness that it ended as a success-story. We need those! Amen.
I was just looking at 150 photos of the crash landing ..what a miracle the space he landed ing was small and so close to a major highway where hundreds on the ground would have surely perished....the photo of all 150(?) passengers and crew standing on the wings takes your breath away a woman with a 4 month old baby..PRAISE GOD!!!!!!
The plane was only 900 feet above the George Washington Bridge ... THAT IS SCARY .. very very scary .... The pilot ws trying to get to the local airport in NJ across the river -- probably in I'd say about 5 miles from the Hudson Riveron the NJ side, but instead did the water landing which I bet saved everybody's life .. I cannot imagine that same plane crashing on a highway or congested suburbs.
What a tragedy to read about and look @ the pics and think what "could have" happened even worse.
