Medhelp’s 1st Photography contest

This was an idea that occurred to me earlier today. There are a number of very talented photographers here and I thought it would be awesome if we can have a contest. Everyone is welcome to participate. I mean everyone, regardless of standing, communities involved, or photography skills.

This is an open contest and I want everyone to take part and have fun. The theme for this contest is Spring. Every entry must have a spring theme.

Ground rules:

- All entries must be original photos from the person entering. (Sorry google, deviantart, etc are off limits…it would be too easy and plus there’s no challenge there, lol :P)
- One entry per person
- There will be two parts of this contest. The first part is entering. The second part will be deciding a winner.

Here’s how it will go:

Part 1:

1. Capture and pick a spring themed photo of your own (original work *Please*)
2. 2. Give a title to your work. This will be very important later.
3. Post the link to your photo on this topic. You don’t have to include the title in the post, but you may prefer to.
4. After the deadline has been decided. (I hope to have at least 10 entries to make it worth judging. Ideally the more the better.) then we will be ready for part 2.

Part 2:

1. Members will get to vote on their favorite entry in a new topic. (using the poll feature) The titles will be listed in the poll as well as a link to the previous post.

2. After a set time frame the one with the most votes wins, bragging rights + the snazzy little award to put in their profile (only it won’t say “Sample”) across it.

3. To pick up the award, I will pm the winner with a direct link to the award to download and save on the profile. For obvious reasons, to pick up the award, you must have your profile set to accept pm messages from my username. (at least for that one time) If not then obviously you won’t be able to pick up the award and that would be sort of a bummer, wouldn’t it be? =P

Deadline for Part 1 of the contest:  June 1, 2009 (that be enough time?)

This should work. I put it on journal entry as the photos I post
are generally specific to my recovery. If its not large
enough I'll relocate it there. A family member and I just
scanned it in.

Just bringing this up again.  We still have plenty of time to enter, but don't wait too long.

Just wondering, how many options will the poll allow? I may have to change my plans a little, but we will see.
