Men and Wedding rings

Wanted to ask you guys how important it is to you and the Hubby whether he wears a wedding ring or not, I heard today soon to be married Prince William has said he will not be having/wearing a wedding ring,.I do know its not such a regular thing in the UK as it is in the US but in recent years became more so. I live in the US and I see most men wearing wedding rings and I like that .Where do you stand .

My husband doesn't wear his ring because right now it doesn't fit! So he got a tattoo on his ring finger instead. They won't tattoo around your entire finger; just the top half as the bottom half will fade very quickly as we use our hands so much. When he plays guitar he'd take any rings off anyway as your fingers can swell and it's uncomfortable. So the tat was my idea as I didn't want chicks hitting on him, thinking he was single. It shows up great when he's playing guitar.

I doubt Prince William will get a tattoo, LOL! But that's what my hubby has for the time being.

I live in the UK, and we get a public holiday on that day (yeah you're right, is the 29th April) so I can't wait to watch it. I'm not a massive fan of the Royal Family, I must say. Like some people absolutely love them etc and what they do...I on the other hand couldn't really care because I don't feel the need for one these days BUT I do think the younger members are good and I think they (especially William and Harry) are in keeping with the times these days are great. Plus I think Kate is beautiful and so I'm really looking forward to watching the wedding. Mainly though...I just want to see what kind of dress she goes for! LOL

My hubby does not wear his because it is dangerous in the type of work he does, and I dont wear mine either lest I am off work or going out somewhere, for work related reasons as well.

I think if a man is going to cheat, he will simply cheat and lie in order to do it so a ring doesnt matter one bit.... I just wished we had thought of it all earlier as it would have saved us lots of money!

My DH often told me "I won't be able to wear a ring because of the work I do", but in our 11 years of marriage, he's never taken it off.  I like that he wears it.  I don't know if it would bother me if he didn't, but I like that he does.
Recently he's complained about his fingers being swollen and said "I might not be able to wear my ring much longer"  to which I (sorta) jokingly replied, "I guess you'll have to get one tattoed on!"  Honestly, it's an option I would consider.  I'm not a tattoo person, but I like the idea of the permanence of it, and I think it could be beautifully done.

I'm not a jewelry person myself, but I always wear my engagement ring. I think it's grown on me and I really like it now. I know my fiance will always wear his ring when we get married, even though he also doesn't normally wear jewelry. I like seeing people wear their rings and it'd be nice to see more men wear theirs since it seems like so many don't.

My DF isn't much of a jewellery wearer and we have talked about it, and he actually suggested that he would rather get a tattoo on his ring finger instead. He said that that is more permanent and meaningful and shows how committed you are to that the other person that you have tattood their name or something on their instead of wearing a ring which can be easily stolen, lost and taken off. Where as the tattoo will always be there!
I do think though that it's quite nice seeing a man wearing a wedding ring...even when they don't wear any other jewellery it shows how committed they are that they would wear that.
I personally don't mind either way...I know he's mine and and I trust him with all my heart which I think is all that matters.

yes mine  didn't wear one as he said woodwork machinery could catch on it and rip his finger off , dont think William does carpentry but one doesnt know, I dont think his father Charles wore one , he wore a pinky ring so maybe William is following his dad .

I don't wear jewellery, and neither does my husband
A ring is just a symbol, our 30 years of marriage through thick and thin, good and bad,and many illnesses and upheavals is all the proof of love that we need.

My dad does not wear one. I always found it odd. I always thought he should. My husband and I talked in detail about it, before we got married. My husband wears one, but he didn't wear one for like a year when his first one got lost.
It was really sweet he snuck out one day and bought a new one as a surprise to me. I glad he wears one, because he is musician and young ladies like to hit on him.

I think all the men should wear their ring. I've come across some sleazy men who won't wear their ring and hit on women. I think the ring is a physical reminder of that promise you made to your spouse and it's their for everyone to see.

Yes....maybe a great big "M", surrounded by a heart.

I think they charge ten dollars a letter.

That would be the most inexpensive way to go.

If you were my wife, Marypops, I would have your name (shortened suitably to save money at the tattoo parlor, which, I understand, charges by the letter) tattooed on my left arm.

I have a problem with rings because they cause inflammation on my fingers.
