He he he someones playing games and bumping this up, I asked swamp critter why and he said its normal but this seems like games Lol LOl I like a game or two.
Sorry! The devil made me do it! lol
I never fill them out. I guess someday I'll go to prison or something eventually.
But I'm not dumb enough to write them and tell them I refuse to particpiate.
The most famous "census protestor" was the late William Buckley. He decided to mail them a letter stating his "constitutional" objections.
They dragged him into federal court, CONVICTED HIM, and he got probation in lieu of a prison sentence.
He eventually decided discretion was the better part of valor and filled the form out.
TEKO - Funny, funny, FUNNY!!!!
If it's just a simple census....there are 5 people living in my house. Period.
Oh, a census also includes a "valuing of 'their' estate for the imposing of taxes". How quaint. Use the tax records.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau:
190,374 people are having sex right now, 212,130 are kissing, and
1 poor b-astard is reading emails.
You hang in there sunshine!!!!
You have to have a census of some kind....Is it perfect? No...it's too big and there are too many variables. But you have to start somewhere.
In the case of our gov't they have to get some sort of basis for how much money it's going to take to keep people alive. Even if only marginally... LOL
We've been required to answer questions for the census for years. I did google 2010 census, but didn't find the questions - must not have looked in the right place. I've always thought the questions were more personal than they needed to be and can't help wondering what is done with the information; however, they've known *I* was around for the past 60 yrs, so what more can I tell them? I filed income tax so they know where I live and how much $ I make; I guess the only reason they need to know what time I leave for work would be if they were going to break into my house while I'm gone and they can get that info just by sitting down the street an watching.
The biggest problem I have with the whole thing is that they will fine ME $100 if I don't answer their questions, but how many of the illegal aliens are going to come forward with all this information??
I suspect that there are millions living in this country who will NEVER be counted, yet WE get the honor of supporting them..
In some ways, I can see why they need certain information and I've never had a problem with providing the info in the past - but then I've never been afraid for my freedom in the past either.
I get messages and calls all the time from India, I recognise the accent so work must be out sourced to that country from here I wish they'd offer the work to our unemployed here in the US....
"Then some other agency decides they can use it too, then..........on and on. I have nothing to hide, it's just the idea somebody always has their nose where it doesn't need to be."
I guess I'm confused at where this apparent fear of the government is coming from. My friend had a pharmacy call her and ask her if she wanted her prescription (a muscle relaxer that she had only been prescribed once after a car accident) refilled. How in the world did this pharmacy get that info ? She has no clue. Anyhow, they kept calling her constantly... offering to refill her prescription. The lady on the phone who called her sounded Asian. She believes that this pharmacy, who has a website and does not list their physical address, is overseas ! Now I find that frightening !
If it wasn't for the fine, they could take a hike. It's my feeling that the government says it has good reasons for many things. Maybe it starts out that way, but as margypops says, once the information is out there, you don't have control over it. Then some other agency decides they can use it too, then..........on and on. I have nothing to hide, it's just the idea somebody always has their nose where it doesn't need to be.
Thats what folks should do all the questions are there I believe they will see for them selves all they are being asked to disclose....I personally thought they were asking a lot of qestions a lot of people would be relunctant to give,I found it to be a question of privacy ,so you believe that none of the information can be used once its out there,,, by other agencies
The census has been going on for well over 100 years and they still ask a lot of the same questions.
This information is used to channel government funds and programs to the right areas, Including roadways, emergency programs, health programs etc., a lot of things we don't even realize and take for granted.
If you google 2010 census questions and go to the government site, it will show you the questions and give all the reasons they ask these questions and what they use them for.
I agree it is all out there on the internet but its good to get feed back from other people hence asking what you think.here, ...I dont think we should be made to give out personal information it should be voluntary....Look at the questions theres some pretty personal stuff there.
I do not have a problem in taking a census but I do have a problem when they force you to take it or pay a fine. This should be a choice. If they really want information about you and your family they can get it anyway or already have it. The Government knows more about us than sometimes I think I know about myself. LOL
Well, actually, just from what we say on here. Anyone can find out just about anything they want to! lol
Anything put on the internet is for anyone who wants to know. Its all out there.
P.S. ~ I don't view it as an invasion of my privacy at all. The government already knows this information. In fact.... companies around the WORLD probably already have this information. I think these huge companies are more scary than "big brother government". You wouldn't believe how much research they do and what they know about you.
Of course I will participate in the census. Why ? Because my community gets more $$$$$$$$$$ as a result.
Taking a census has been going on since I can remember. I think people are getting paranoid.
I don't think the government has a right to know so much about us. As long as the government and tax payers are not supporting me then why should they know so much about me?
Google 2010 Decennial Census programme.. it will give you the BIG list of questions, in my opinion very intrusive , thers a lot about Race and anncestry also births , some what I think are very personal questions....too much for me to put here I dont think most people will be too amuse we have had a census since 1790 but it seems to be a lot more now...check it out.
They want to know how many are living in your house if its rented ,or owned how many times you flush the Loo, what time you go to work what you earn if you work, all kind of intrusive stuff and its mandatory , I think that Acorn was being employed by the Government with other agencies to collect the information.,do you own a gun, married ,divorced single..I am still trying to get the actual questions they will be asking, I believe we fill in a form. We do get something like this every 10 years .
I must be way out of touch here......what is this census for??
