I just invited my friend over for tomorrow. We have some pringles and stuff to snack on. Hopefully it will be fun.
Mine will be boring. I have to work until about 10pm and then I will probably come home and watch a movie until I fall asleep. I don't have a babysitter and I am pregnant so I wouldn't want to go out anyways.
We are spending New Year's with our familes. My mother and brother who live in Utah (my mother lives with us) will be attending a dinner at my in-laws and we plan on having a great time playing games and eating! LOL!!! Anyway, I'm looking forward to this family time. I was sick on Christmas Day (but I made my mother and hubby go without me) and missed getting together for Christmas Dinner and so it will be nice!
We will be staying home. I might pick up some drinks and have a small party for me, hubby and kids. Once kids drop we will wait until Midnight and bring in the New Year in a good way! ; ) We used to do that and it always brought good luck for the next year.
My kids always invite their friends over, we have grape juice, snacks, blow horns, play games, dance, play loud music, play games, take crazy pictures, and whatever else they think of. I haven't ever heard of beating on pots and pans but that will now be added to the party. Thanks for the idea.
Teko, the pots and pans thing is great fun. In WI no one complains about the pots and pan noise because if they aren't doing it too, they did do it once....lol
Go for it!!!
Just staying home and probably watch a movie. My husband is going to make Lasagna. I love his lasagna!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yahoooooooooooo!!
We invited some of our friends and kids over. We're planning on having lots of snacks and playing with our new WII game system!
You're welcome to join us in the fun. I'm thinking of calling and inviting one of my real life friends over, that is if she doesn't have any other plans.
Not sure my cousin will be home from Texas we may have a little gathering.
The pots and pans thing sounds like fun! I wonder if I would get thrown off the ship! lol
My sister is having a New Years Eve party, so I will probably be attending that!
Pots and pans banging...I think it's a Wisconsin thing. We use to do it too....lol
We're staying home again this year. Movies and popcorn. My husband always says, "Why would anyone want to go out on New Year's Eve?? It's amateur night and they are all out!!" LOL
Stay up to midnight (something I do every day) get a few snacks and then when midnight rolls around bang pots and pans as loud as we can. I'm thinking it will be cool (weather permitting) for grandma and I to walk up and down the side walk banging pots and pans to wake up all the neighbors, lol. If one of grandma's friends can come over that would be great too. The more people the better.
I have no clue where the banging pots and pans tradition came from, other than it's from my dad's side of the family. I don't know if this year we will be doing the black-eyed peas and ham hocks or not, but that's another tradition.
I will just rent a movie and stay home!!!!
with any luck will be asleep before the ball drops...lol
