They have the man kitchen I saw it it had the boy stuff (man) The grill set thats what I would get him but thats me I dont want my boy to be soft .
I dont mean that in a bad way I am just saying
Hmm, I 've never seen those, but my son is just interested in a regular kitchen with fake food, dishes, and appliances.
some of the best chefs of the world started playing in the kitchen when they were children.. i would love to be able to cook like them.. so nothing wrong with it
if i were 4 again right now i would want ,transformers,,ben 10 ,spiderman stuff and a battery operated car ,but that is just me ,if that is what your son would like well then what choice do u have their is nothing wrong with that ,i think people just feel girls have more of an imagination for things like that ,but if he sees his dad cooking all the time why wouldn't he want to copy him ,buy him the toy ,they are only young once
happy x-mas
I agree nothing at ALL wrong with it. We are getting my daughter one and I am sure my son will join right in with her.
I still like the grill set LOL I thought it was neat
alien.. i may try to find the grill set for my garndson sounds neat
My boys had a kitchen and a work bench ,,,then a easy bake oven,,,
I taught all 3 of my sons to cook,,the 17 yo has never had a girlfriend that can cook he can turn out a full dinner.
toys mimick life boys need to know how to cook and do laundry and hold a baby...girls should be able to use basic tools and know how to check their oil or change a tire...stereo-typing toys was always a no no for me,.
Exactly Cherie and although some might not agree, if my son wanted to play with dolls, I wouldn't have a problem with it because he's innocent and doesn't see some things as being for either boys or girls. Both my husband and I have a culinary degree and I bake and he cooks. My son loves helping. He still likes Power Rangers, Spiderman and other boyish toys and games. I was just wondering what everyone thinks.
Both my boys had kitchen sets and one is a boys boy and the other is a mommas boy so i think if your son wants a play kitchen get hhim one who knows maybe he can be the next Emeral ya neva know
While running a child care center, the kitchen area was a very popular place for boys and girls. I personally love it when a man can cook. I don't see anything wrong with boys playing with dolls of doll houses either. They are just practicing to be good Dads and husbands. My girls love to play with monster trucks as much as my boys do. I think they should all be encouraged to act out healthy living.
One day 4 boys were sitting at a play table, they were laughing, and pretend falling out of their chairs. I asked them what they were doing. One boy said, Miss xxxxxxx, we are drink beer, we are drunk, falling down. They said it like I should've known what they were doing. I felt so sorry for those kids and I hope they do not act this out when they grow up. Their parent were not lower class people with known addictions. Some of their occupations were teachers, highway patrolmen, insurance sales, city maintenance worker, and nurses.
Please get your son a kitchen with all of the extras you can afford.
My son asked for one for X Mas ....He has the grill.....I see nothing wrong with it...
It seems perfectly reasonable to me that your son might want a play kitchen. HIs father is a chef and at 4 his Dad is his hero. He just wants to be like his Dad. I'd be buying if it were up to me. :-)
Well, nothing wrong to buy one for your son. I have bought twice for my 2 boys. Just don't get that are pinkish or that sort thing.... get ones that both girls & boys can play like unisex, ya know? :)
I bought my sons a boy baby doll when expecting tried to help them understand what a new baby would be like ..it helped with the oldest he was 21/2 when brother was born...he was jealous !!
I bought my niece whos 9 a play make up kit and a monster truck for christmas....maybe I try to hard to not stero type but the kids have always liked both when young...when older they tend to fall into roles
My son is four and he is getting a play kitchen for Christmas from "Santa."
I have no issues with it and neither do my family or friends; my son loves to do pretend play with household chores like cooking, dishwashing, laundry, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping. Oh, and he also LOVES babies, fuzzy little animals, and horses. Lol, and let me tell you, I certainly don't discourage any of it!
I asked my mom if she would get him the play kitchen because he always wants to help me cook dinner, and having him lean over the stove and pull open the oven freaks me out. I'm going to set up his play kitchen in my kitchen so he can play along while I'm cooking and then maybe I won't have to worry so much about his safety.
He's definitely all boy in every way, though. All his other interests and toys are super/action heros, dinosaurs, Hot Wheels, pretend swordplay, trains, power tools, etc.

Great job, this is the perfect way of helping children develop into who they really are. I bet you are the favorite Aunt.

I am so glad that more people are opening up to this. Your children will thank you when they grow up.
babypooh, you and your husband have culinary degrees?! Can I borrow you over the holidays? lol Seriously! :)
I have a play kitchen I got because I was doing daycare. My 4 year old boy has played with it the last couple of years. He doesn't as often anymore but he still likes to "cook" for me and have me taste his meals! I also have a couple of baby dolls, again for my daycare, that he liked to play with at times. He's even slept with a baby doll a few times. I don't have a problem with it at all. I think it will teach him about being a father and being gentle with a baby, etc. He's very good with my daycare baby!
For the most part, he likes playing with cars and trains but I go with what he's interested in at the moment and let him be.
I agree with the others, go ahead and get him the play kitchen and let him have fun.
Perfectly fine. My 2y old nephew has one and it has a grill on the other side! His dad does all the cooking and grilling so why not???
