Reminds me of a bit of doggerel from an old "MAD" magazine:
If wishes were horses
Then rides would be free
If Huntley were Cronkite
We'd watch NBC
Rest well "Uncle" Walter, you kept us informed, honestly.
Pip
what sad news I admired that man, is it just me or are we losing an abnormally high amount of famous people as of late. ?
I read that today on yahoo news.....silly me said..Oh I thought he died ages ago!
Nice gentleman, many young television journalists could learn from him. Good to see he lasted as long as he did.
He "WAS" the news to so many people, you could listen to him and believe what you heard, gone are those great days.
In black and white to jolly!!! He was a good honest man. sara
I still can remember him singing off saying...and that is the way it is on...and gives the date...he was truley one of a kind.....thats when you could trust TV media people
