Well my last question on President Obama received many post , what does everyone think about his supreme court pick

It was annouced today that Justice Suter was retirng from the bench after this term. President Obama came out and said he wants a man with real life experience. I think this is a good thing, the first name that came up, was former President Clinton. Personally I think this would be alright. He is avery intelligent man, he has real life experience, being in the highest office of the land for 8 years. I to this day think the impeachment was pay back, what happened was between him and his wife. I know this is probably going to come back and bite me, but I have always like Bill Clinton i did vote for him in 96. I think he would make an excellent Supreme Court Justice. All he would be doing is replacing one moderate liberal for another

Sonia Sotomayor was nominated to the Southern District of New York by George H W Bush, and to the Court of Appeals by Bill Clinton.  She has an excellent reputation as a jurist.  She was the commencement speaker when I graduated from law school.  She is a very interesting woman and a compelling speaker.

Very well stated, you are correct on President Clinton, plus what better "life experience" then being the president for 8 years..like you ididn't care about the incident but that was between him and his wife..President kennedy had many women brought into the White House for lets say grown up play...lol..Clinton is a very caring humane man, and knows the law

Vance:
I understand what you're saying as my first inclination was to say something similar about President Clinton.  But, when I thought about it, he has the experience and was once an attorney and knows law.  He's actually a very smart man (other than allowing that sexual scandal infiltrate the White House). I also believe he's more of a moderate and willing to make decisions based on both sides of the spectrum.  He ruled as a President with both conservative and liberal ideologies.  At least that's my take on him.  And, honestly, I believe he would be better than some other people I've heard been mentioned.  And, for me to say this says a lot since I did not like President Clinton when he first took office, I did not vote for him and did not vote for him the second time either. I know this sounds strange, but my gut tells me he'd be very good and I do believe he loves this country and would interpret the Constitution with a smart head and willing heart.

I can't believe I'm actually saying all this either.  Very interesting how having someone like President Obama in office has changed my whole outlook on President Clinton.  The man loved this country and did a lot of good things.

President Clinton would be a horrible pick. The Supreme Court is about the interpretation of the constitution, it doesn't matter if he is liked or respected. I do not think President Clinton has the background or level of expertise to serve on the court.

As a conservative I want a traditionalist but I know President Obama will not even come close to that, I just hope that he does not pick a radical because if he does he will lose a lot of America and will probably have a tough time getting that person through.

What makes me sick is all of the "experts" saying that it has to be a person of color and probably a woman. It's not about racial make up or what sex you are it should be about the best person for the job.

I have a feeling that even if he was offered it he wouldnt take it, hes a pretty gregarious character and it would curtail him a bit, but I did vote for him in 96 and I liked him then.,as I liked his wife I thought she would have made a great President and be more to the middle than O Bama is seeming to be ..

Wolf Blitzer on CNN reported that they were told he is being considered, i think it would be a brillent choice..Clinton is a very well liked and respected man even though the troubles hes had, but he really turned things around with all he has done since leaving the preisdeicy

I didn't think that President Clinton had a lot of integrity back then.  But, even saying that, I do like him as a person now.  And, with his knowledge and skills I think he would do a good job as a Supreme Court Justice.
