Years ago I wanted the perfume "Red" and my boyfriend at the time ended up getting me "Red Door" by Elizabeth Arden. Aaaargh!! I hated it so much and didn't even know if he realized it wasn't the right perfume because I pretended to like it. I just used it as air freshener to get rid of it. Sometimes I wonder what men think about when it comes to getting gifts LOL
A vegetable chopper for christmas, I told him no more household products for christmas or birthdays. LOl that was 17 or so years ago
I am really shocked to say that I have never gotten a gift I didn't like from a boyfriend. I have only had two serious relationships and both guys just know/knew what I like. Joey is very good at picking out jewelry for me, he knows if he sticks to jewelry I will be happy ;)
A lot of it has to do with the fact that I am not picky, as long as it is wrapped and I am somewhat surprised I will be happy.
I once used the ugly sweater one morning when it was kind of chilly out. I needed something to cover up my tee shirt while I was out sealing my deck. And he never even remembered the ugly thing. It has been in my closet for 15 years, so I figured that I might as well get some use out of it. I think ugly, runs in his family. I once got a real ugly sweater from his mom. I wore that one when I was working on my ceramics. For some reason I seem to enjoy the sweaters best when splattered with paint or stain. LOL
Aren't men funny....a new vacuum cleaner...since Ive been sick I let him have the privilege of using it.
An.... Out board for HIS boat ,.... he thought I would like it,! and he still tells this story to anyone who will listen, he he, I have now done it for him.
The 1st Mr. Peek once put a check WRITTEN FROM OUR JOINT BANK ACCOUNT into my Christmas stocking, in lieu of actually having to think of stocking stuffers for me.
And it was for $25.
You don't want to know what I did about it, but suffice to say, it was the first in a long list of reasons why he is not the current Mr. Peek.
A video game. . .I don't even play video games. . .he does!
that was several years ago. . .he hasn't made that "mistake" again!
:)
haha!
I got the ugliest sweater that was ever made. I still have it. Dont know why but i do.
Without a doubt it was a set of 6 ugly coffee mugs with mushrooms painted on them!! It came with a tree to hang the ugly things on.....Of course,i set them out on the counter like a good little wife.....at the time we didn't even drink coffee!! Yrs. later,i ask him why he bought the mugs,he said....they were on clearance! Money was tight...the year was 1975.....our first Christmas!
Well my husband has always been sneaky. He first finds out the things that I need to then buy them for me. So, I guess he always gets it right.
Crappiest present? A rose my ex-boyfriend gave me after trying to give it to the woman he was cheating on me with, and being rejected by her saying that she didn’t need roses but money.
