I heard they think the plane may have broke up while still in the air? I guess because of how far the wreckage was scattered. It may have been a lightening strike or pilot error in stalling out the plane is what I heard. Still, very sad and tragic. I know I've flown many times but I do prefer to drive when I can!
They now are saying that the wreakage they found was not from that flight and that they still haven't found anything at all. They are still searching now.
Yup it does put one off flying, I believe the plane was scattered for quite a way, not much left of any bodies I would think, I did hear that once they lost cabin pressure it would be only a few mins and they would be unconcious ..poor people.. poor families..
Ah...the flight recorders will not be squished -- if they are found the information can be recovered. Swampy didn't realize that the FDR/CVR equipment is certified for depths of 20,000ft! (That is one incredible bit of engineering by the way)
They have found additional wreckage and they are moving subs in to try and find the recorders. They'll send out pings for a month.
how much of the wreckage have they found? i haven't seen anymore updates on it lately. i was actually talking to my dad and he said he had heard that the plane was struck by lightening while i heard bomb, lightening and possibly turbulance. so who knows. it would suck if they can't find the black box. have they found any of the passangers or crew? it's so awful how these things happen! i will definitely NOT be flying anytime soon. i'm already scared of planes as it is....then to see/hear about this!!!! my but is staying planted on the ground.
Its probably not a bomb -- they can tell that from the type of wreckage discovered.
However, they'll almost certainly never find the flight recorders -- the water is too deep they'll be squished.
