Hi
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. I was unable to login. I tried numerous times to get my password reset and had to send 2 e-mails to medhelp directly before it was resolved.

Looking forward to seeing more pics when you get them. I'll try to take some in the summer when things here are blooming. We had more snow this morning...crap. :(

I love trees too. I can't bring myself to cut one, even for a Christmas tree. I have a lot of mature trees on the property. The Blue Spruce in the front yard is about 40ft tall and we put Christmas lights on it for December. I have 3 more pine/fir trees I'm hoping to put lights on eventually. There is a sterile Mulberry tree in the herb/rock garden, a Catalpa and a cedar tree in the back, a sugar maple and an oak at the back and side and many more at the far back of the property...I love trees.

I would like to try planting fruit trees in an espalier pattern at some point too.

Yep that worked.I can see them now. Love the cactus rock garden. I really like the picture of your cat in the sink.

Today didn't work out for cleaning up the perennial beds. Rain, rain and more rain...at least it's not snow. I took the hint that they are not meant to be cleaned out yet and went to my friends sugar bush instead to have maple syrup. YUMMY :)

I couldn't find the picture on your profile page. Maybe i'm not looking in the right spot?

Tomorrow I get brave and take the dead leaves off my perennials and pray we don't get any more snow.If they're brave enough to stick their little heads up i can be brave enough to clean out their beds. lol

Great. My geranium grow-op seems too be working, at least nothing is dead ....yet. lol
Keeping the cats away from it is a challenge. I can certainly understand the old saying,"curiosity killed the cat", because they won't leave anything new alone. They have to have their noses, faces and then paws into everything. Good thing they're cute. :)

We had warm weather here today, around 24C but I'm still afraid to take the leaves off my perennials yet. We could still get snow. I never thought I could actually be excited to start weeding. lol

We have 2 cats and 2 dogs of our own and we co-own 2 more dogs as well. Lots of pet hair, lots of love.

Back from Toronto. I am so glad I live in the country. I love to visit cities and see everything but I couldn't be without a garden for too long. :)
We had a great time though. Did some shopping, ate well, looked around, slept in every day-my favorite thing.
The pets missed us,very affectionate when we got back. gotta love that unconditional devotion.lol
Glad to be home.

No he's not a gardener. He does like to cut grass though. For which I give thanks because I hate it. He's fairly tolerant of my gardening obsession except when I start taking more and more of his lawn to turn into flowerbeds. That's when the "Turf" wars start.

Have a good week. I'll be gone for the next 4 days.

They are just so resilient, the red blooms are gorgeus, and all we did was bash the ends , dip that end in Root compound, and into the ground .we noticed they seem to bloom most of the year, however I do not know about the snow ,I put a plastic bag over my cactus if I hear there;s going to be a frost in Winter .Does your dh also like to garden ?

I'll see your weeding and raise you snow shovelling. lol  I don't much like weeding either. It's just a necessary evil that has to be done to enjoy the rest of the gardening. I'm trying your trick with the geraniums. I also started a few different seeds. My entire dining room table has become a greenhouse. I think I may have spring fever.

oohh yes I am not certain but it may still be too cold to plant.. so keeping them in pots for the min is good, my having success may be due to it not being very cold, and having a lot of rain this year .I have been doing some weeding, thats a lovely job ....not

LOL not a state ..a province,I live in Ontario, Canada. You're in California? You must get to garden all year.
I bought some geraniums to start indoors today. Went to the shed to get my soil and starter pots, but when I tried to scoop the soil  out of the bag I couldn't ...it was Frozen. I had to bring it in the house to defrost. Defrosting soil sheesh. I can't wait for warmer weather. :)
