Anviety and perimenopause

I am 48, generally in good health, no daily medications except my vitamin/mineral supplements I've been taking for the past 10 years. I follow a strict diet with no added sugar or white flour. However, in the past two months, I have gained 18 pounds, feel anxious a lot with waves of extreme dread and am even finding lesions on my scalp. I had a blood test done and my Gyn, but she said I'm not in menopause yet. She did not offer any solution other than a "live with it" attitude. Is there something I can do to stop this weight gain and anxiety? Should I trust any of the natural herbal remedies? I'd rather not get started on any prescriptions if I can help it.
Anything you can offer will be better than this. Thanks ~

Hi Jan - I recently read the book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause" and I would recommend it as a good read.  I think you will find a lot of interesting and hopefully valuable information in it.  I certainly learned a lot about balancing hormones!

Take care : )
