Is there any hope?

I had a spare total hysterectomy and bilateral silpango oophorectomy two years ago no hrt in the past yr my body has all but given up 40lbs later severe joint pain and mood,? Depression doesn't begin to describe the mental anguish I'm in is there any hope I can't find any motivation to try to the hot flashes nausea are terrible but the pain is non stop my PCP apparently doesn't have a clue I can't take much more of this

I'm sorry you are suffering! I get it! I also suffered horribly after my hysterectomy 10 years ago which was totally unwarranted at that! I also fell into a severe depression...had never been depressed before. And that was just the tip of the iceberg as far as the problems that ensued.

Is there any particular reason why you aren't on HRT? Getting enough estrogen in my body did wonders for my depression as well as most of my other symptoms.

Did you know that naturally menopausal women's ovaries produce hormones for decades after menopause? These hormones are critical to every aspect of health and quality of life? Estrogen has been shown to mitigate some of these health risks and improve quality of life. So it isn't unreasonable for those of us without ovaries to take HRT for the rest of our lives.
