Menopause Symptoms?

Hi there,

i am in my menopause since 3 years already. I am 51 years old. I didn't have any symptoms associated with menopause but since 6 months ago I start having some health problems.

I have asthma since a was 13 years old. Like 6 months ago, I start having some asthma attack episodes accompanied with fever and body chills. The fever was 101 f. I have to cover myself with blankets. This last between 4 to 5 hours. After that I start feeling okay like nothing happens. These symptoms appear every 10 or 15 days.

Off course I went to my asthma doctor and my family doctor, they took a lot of blood test and they did not find anything.

Could be these episodes related to menopause?

I will appreciate any suggestion

thanks

alicia

A. Sometimes hot flashes can seem like fever and body chills and your symptoms might be due to menopause, but while hot flashes feel hot, they are not usually associated with a fever.  There are some infectious diseases that cause a fever every so often. If your doctors don

Been in early menopause since I was 41.  I am now 44 and have experienced everything from night sweats that lasted for months, hot flashes, irritability, insomnia, weight gain.  I am only now having irregular periods.  I am not taking any HRT at all but at times think I should in order to get to the next stage.  I am the mother of two teenage children. Sometimes I wonder if stress brings on early or pre menopause.  It seems like there is always something going on with my health these past couple of years.  Also racing heart and most recently a mobitz I heart block. Some arthritis in the last year as well that is minor but added to the list.

Menopause is a stage in life when a woman stops having her monthly period. By definition, a woman is menopausal after her periods have stopped for one year. Menopause typically occurs in a woman's late forties to early fifties. It is a normal part of aging, marking the end of a woman's reproductive years. Women who have their ovaries surgically removed undergo "sudden" menopause. The transition period in a woman's life when the ovaries stop producing eggs, menstrual activity decreases and eventually ceases, and the body decreases the production of the female hormones, estrogen and progesterone, is known as menopause. Known as the "change of life," menopause is the last stage of a gradual biological process.

I am 46 years old.  I had my uterus and cervix removed 5 years ago.  My ovaries were left in place.  I have been having vaginal dryness lately.  Am I starting into the change of life?  My mother was 52 when she stopped having periods.

Thank you

I'm 44 and have been experiencing menopause symptoms since I was 39.  I'll be 45 this year. I've not had a period in two years. Two years ago, my OB-GYN told me I was in peri-menopause and put me the Nuva-ring, birth control.  This was suppose to help with the hot flashes, and night sweats.

I took about four months, and found that each month I would have a cycle, but it messed with my hormones and I noticed a dramatic change in my moods during my cycle.  I quit using this and waited about six months, went back to the doctor, this time (September 05), he told me I was in menopause.

My doctor asked me to try a low dose HRT, Climara, patch. I used this for four months and gained 10 lbs.  I was always swollen, throughout my entire body.  My breast felt like they doubled in size and I my stomach would never go down, I looked four month pregnant. I've never had a weight problem, so this was a quite  a change.  I stopped HRT in January, and really haven't experienced hot flashes like I did months earlier.  I really don't know what to do at this point, maybe I'll ride out the storm.  I also had breakthrough bleeding while on HRT. But now I'm not having periods anymore.

I think I'll try another doctor so that I may get some understanding and maybe some help with the next phase of womanhood.  Good Luck to everyone going through this!

hi to everyone. i am 55 yrs old. when i was in my 40's i had bad hot flashes, i was always trying to convence my dr. that i was peri - menapausal, but he'd say no, the blood tests show that you have the hormones of a 20 yr old. then about 5 yrs later, they took another test and said i was in early menopauce. that was a little over a yr ago. the heat i feel actually can start at my face and go all thought my body and it feels like 1000,s of hot bee stings. i felt a little of this yrs ago and it can happen any time of the day or night. i can't stand it. i don't want to leave home because of this and constant headaches, you name it and i bet i have it. i also have had lymes dosease for 3 yrs and still having a lot of problems plus i'm been a diabete since 1999 but they only told me in 2004, great dr's here. if i'm in early menopause, then i'll never servive it. i have gained wt. like crazy and i don't eat the wrong food or junk foods. i can't walk to get it off because i have a herniated lowwer spine disk. i feel hopeless. any body go thought this? i hope not.  blessings, loraina

I am 42 years old and seem to be going through perimenopause. My periods are irregular, sometimes heavy, sometimes very light and very unpredictable. My biggest concern is the leg pain and aches I've been experiencing. It used to be that I'd only have this kind of pain on the day I started my period. Now it is constant. I wonder if this has anything to do with circulation. Does anyone else have these symptoms??

Im a little confused.  I am 49 years old with 3 children.  My periods have been somewhat sparatic over the last 5 months..twice a month, then 6 weeks, etc.  Lately, I have been having the classic symptoms of menopause...hot flashes at night slight rapid heart beat and then followed with chills...minimum sleep at night, fatigue during the work day.  I went to my ob/gyn and while he said he thought that I was in pre/peri menopause, he did do a blood test and my hormone levels are normal.  How can this be given the hot flashes?  Are the blood test truly accurate to determine if you are starting menopause?

Please help me understand what's going on.

Thank you for your input.
