Severe Night Sweats

Hi,
I went throuh menopause 3 years ago.  For the last couple of monthis I have drenching night sweats, severe anxiety and it is extremely hard to concentrate.  I am 53.  Could this be because of a hormonal imbalance, and if so, how do I treat it?  I'm at the point where I don't care if it's natural or not or even if it causes cancer.

Hi,

For me, adding bioidentical cream (not oral) Progesterone either from a compounding pharmacist with a script from a doctor, or over the counter (Progest and Femgest are two trusted names ...making sure it says "Progesterone" on the ingredient list) made all the difference in the world for me.

Visit my profile if you wish...I listed the resources that helped me figure all of this out eight years ago. Check the Journal entries (click "view" and view comments, too) since I added more there about all of this. You really have to do your homework so you will have all the details but I believe it is worth it.

Take care,

Mary

Hi Summer - I am 54 and also going through this - No Fun!  I'll tell you what natural herbs I take and that are really helping.  For the hot flashes and night sweats I take Soy Isoflavones, Black Cohosh, and Motherwort.  The soy isoflavones also help with brain function along with T-Theanine and Turmeric.  Valerian, Turmeric Motherwort and Magnolia Bark can help with the anxiety.  I hope this helps you.

Hi, just a word of warning. Anyone who's already on medication just be very careful of taking any natural products without consulting their doctor first. I'm on medication for high blood pressure & thyroid problems and I always check with my GP or pharmacy before taking any supplement.
