excess clear discharge normal during pre menopause?

Hi, Im 50yrs old have been in perimenopause for five years. The last two yrs my periods have been further apart and light. My last period was extremely light and that was three months ago. I get period symptoms but no bleeding ..Recently i have been getting excess clear to white mucousy discharge. About five days ago after treating a hemmoroid issue--sorry to sound gross-- i noticed a clump of mucus in my vaginal area. I just pulled it out and it was clear but all week i am wiping and seeing a bit. I always had this ofcourse and i know its normal to get the clear discharge but it scared me to feel that big clump. Has anyone else ever noticed more discharge in pre,,early menopause? There is no itching,,just a little irritation.
