how long can constant menopausal bleeding last?

Ive had excessive bleeding with thick tissue discharge for almost 2 years now.will be 2 years on oct.5 2017. My blood count drops between a 2 & 4 ive had 2 blood transfusions and my iron is extremely low so im anemic. I have very little energy but im struggling thru the process cause i have no insurance to cover having a hystorectomy.how long can this bleeding process go on? Help im desperate!!!

Have you tried birth control pills or the non-hormonal drug tranexamic acid (Lysteda)? According to this - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0015970/table/ch8.t1/?report=objectonly - these are a couple of options that are proven to be effective.

Have you been tested for a clotting / bleeding disorder? Or are you in perimenopause when bleeding can be erratic?

I had a hysterectomy and would avoid it if at all possible as it causes a whole new set of problems that never go away.
