sore breasts, low sex drive and hot flashes

I am more active in my life now then I have been in awhile.  I am suffering from hot flashes on a daily basis.  Also my breasts have become more sore throught the month.  It reminds me of the pain I experienced when I had breasts infections while breastfeeding.  Since the birth of my child over 3 yrs ago I have had decreased sexual drive as well.  We recently moved and I am finding new doctors in the area.  So... I have an appointment with an GYN in a few weeks.  Is there anything that they should be looking for or could you point me in the right direction for these issues.  I currently take orthro tri-cyclen, and amitripitaline( for migraine headaches).  Any feedback would be appreciated.  Thanks

Hi Giget - How old are you (if you don;t mind me asking)?  You say you had a child 3 years ago so I don;t know if you're a younger or older mom.  I have a friend that had her last child at 34 and started early menopause the very next year.  Soy Isolflavones, Black Cohosh and Motherwort seem to help me a lot with the hot flashes.  Give good ole Damiana a try for the sex drive - it really works!  Hope this helps.

I searched Damiana and below is what I found.  I would be very carefull taking this.  Click on the link at the bottom for more information.

Damiana is a relatively small shrub that produces small, aromatic flowers. It blossoms in early to late summer and is followed by fruits that taste very similarly to figs. The shrub is said to have an odor somewhat like chamomile or Cannabis sativa, due to an oil present in the plant. The leaves have traditionally been made into a tea which was used by native people of Central and South America for its reputed aphrodisiac effects. Spanish missonaries first recorded that the Mexican Indians drank Damiana tea mixed with sugar for its ability to enhance lovemaking.

Yes, it is a natural aphrodisiac but in the right quantities it also helps with anxiety, sleep,  nervousness and helps balance hormones.
