Azithromycin for Epididymitis?

I felt a tingling on an off in my testicles for some time. It would come and go, there would be days when it wouldn't appear then it would. It went on for a month or so. Then It began to become stronger.
A doctor told me I had epididymitis. I'm not sexually active. I was given Levaquin, which seemed like it was working but I had to give it up after 2 days because it messed up my knees. So I switched to Doxy. I was on it for 2 weeks, it didn't help.

Should I try azithromycin next. But seeing that my infection is most likely not from a STD. I don't think it's gonna work.

Is there another antibiotic that attacks bacteria similar to the  fluoroquinoline class. I can't take  fluoroquinoline antibiotics because they mess up my tendons.

Can anyone help?

Thank you for your help and your research.

Of course I too did my own research before going to the doctor and I wouldn't take anything without reading up on it.

I know suspect that the doctor was wrong and that I don't have Epididymitis.

Hi S, first I still think doctor first and explain the meds give you problems or not working, but doxy is a 10 day course, so 2as days is going all the way   they say you must run the course and that was 10 days for the doxy.
I did a little research, and come up with this, you could try pain killers and anti=inflammatory meds.
Bed rest elovated scrotum, and ice pacts is recomended.
But they say antibiotics is best, ceftriaxone single dose, azithromyein 3 or 5 day pack, and last doxycycline ywice daily for 10 days.
Now is this the kind of info you want.

I understand that you are trying to help and thank you. But like I said I already saw the doctor who gave me an antibiotic that crippled me for 3 weeks, he didn't even know it caused tendon damage. Plus he was of very little help and told me it might be in my head since I had no swelling or other visible signs.

I wouldn't be on here asking people for help if I hadn't gone to a doctor first. A reply like go see a doctor isn't of much help and help is something I need. Again I understand that you have good intentions.

I live in a small european country and health care isn't the best here, especially the free kind, I can't afford private as I have little money to live on.

I'm just asking for some advice from hopefully a doctor on here. This sensation comes and goes. Yesterday I was fine the whole day, right now I feel like a dull pain, where the epidimyitis is located.

I need advice, please help.
