Blood & Vascular

My husband had a blockage, after begging for an appointment we finally got one 3 weeks after he noticed the probem.  We were told that unfortunately the window of opportunity to blush this out had passed.  What does this mean?

It depends on the blockage.

This was a case for the emergency room, and not for an appointment.

If a clot is found early enough, it can be dissolved. Blood supply can then be returned to the tissue. If you lose the "window" there may be death of cells and the clot may no longer be removable except through surgery.
