Disability eligibility

Because I have no health insurance I cannot obtain assistance with my chronic back pain.  This problem has made it difficult for me to obtain and maintain viable employment.  I applied for Social Security Disability Benefits and was denied.  I am a 50 year old African American male, with Asthma, exczema, chronic lower back pain along with pain in my extremities.  What can I do?

If you had a job you may be covered by workman's compensation.

There are two categories of compensation. For "on-the-job" injuries and for "off-the-job" injuries. The rate for off-the-job is somewhat less.

Other than that you need to go on the internet and search for Hill-Burton Hospitals. Find one in your area that is accepting patients. Hill-Burton hospitals must treat a certain percentage of patients without charge in return for receiving federal aid.

A third choice is to find a clinic. These treat on ability to pay. Once you have established you have no money, the general fee is ten dollars a visit.
