Dry skin on penis

I have dry skin on my penis that doesn’t bother me in my day to day activities but I experience pain when masturbating in that area. There is a definite patch of skin where it is noticeable and the skin around the patch is often dry and i can pull off flakes of dry skin without breaking skin. My guess is it is likely due to friction But I was wondering if this could be something else?

I think you are wright that it is most likely due to how you are masturbating.  That's a common cause of dry skin on penis along with chafing from your clothing or using harsh soaps.  This article says make sure you properly hydrate and you can try coconut oil on it. Use more non irritating lubricant when masturbating.  https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325286#prevention
