Erectile dysfunction normal in 40's?

I'm a healthy male of 43. I'm not overweight (133 lbs and 5/7"), I exercise (swim and jog) 3 times a week and have a very trimmed body. I eat healthy, no tobacco, no prescription drugs, with a very light alcohol consumption. Married for 8 years with 3 kids. After 40 I started having trouble in sex life. It's difficult to get an erection, and it's even more difficult to maintain one. I went to see my doctor and got a blood test done, my testosterone level is 600, very normal. All results from the blood test is very healthy. Doctor said there's nothing wrong with me and the only thing I could try is Viagra. Which I did and it helped. But it's expensive and very unpractical (if I take it and wife not in the mood for sex, then I just wasted $25-I have to take one pill, half won't work. If she wants sex and I didn't take it, then it'll take an hour or so before the drug takes effect, and by then she might not want sex).

Bottom line is we both think a healthy male in early 40's is too early to have erectile dysfunction. Is it normal for healthy males in early 40's to have this problem? Could there be anything else that's wrong with me?

Thank you for the help.

Hello,
It is true that a healthy person like you should not have such issues.Do consult a cardiologist and find out if there is any problem with the circulatory system. Also check up your blood glucose level. These tests may show up something.

Hi Mate,
I had the same problem in the past and i solved it with a little psycotherapy...if you haven't organic problems or deseases i think it could be the right way.
Better if you will do it with your wife: i don't hide you sometimes cialis tablet is helpful for me but therapy i think could be the best solution.
It's no good live with a tablet for having sex, i think.
C'mon and be positive.
