Hard lump on penis shaft

Hello all. Some advice needed. About 5 years ago I noticed a very hard lump under the skin on the left side of my penis - About the size of a small pea. My doctor at the time told me that it would probably disappear in time. Well...it has not disappeared as of ye....its still there and am wondering what it could be as it has not changed at all in that time. Some details below...
The lump itself is quite hard - I thought at first I could just squeeze it out but cannot do that.
It appears to be white/light colored under the skin.
It has not changed size or shape in all the time I have had it.
it does not weep, spread, hurt or leak - it is quite robust.
I believe a STD is unlikely.

Could this be a cyst or some other form of "nodule". It is concerning and ugly too.
Thank you in advance.

Next time you see your doctor, you can get it checked out or if it changes, you can go now. It's usually NOT concerning and nothing more than an aesthetic issue. Cyst or pearly papule come to mind. Neither warrant concern. https://www.healthline.com/health/mens-health/lump-on-penis#mole
