Question re: urinating with erection
Folks;
Simple question that may have a tie-in with our various conditions:
Can anyone else urinate with a full erection?
I can, and quite easily. My wife (a doctor) has always told me that this is abnormal. Since one of the theories we have heard is that prostatitis is possibly caused by reflux of urine into the prostate, we think maybe the failure of the valve that is supposed to be shutting off the flow of urine is what's allowing urine to reflux.

Regarding the Cipro, that sucks that you are allergic to it. Cipro's one of the best antibios for the prostate, as it penetrates the prostatitic capsule well. Don't know much about Bactrim, but hope it works for you. I'm actually on 500 mg of Cipro once daily at the wife's recommendation, and have been taking it for quite a while (since September). It is a huge help, my prostatitis symptoms are gone when I take it. In addition, it seems to help tremendously with my irritable bowel (and NOTHING previously helped my IBS).
Anyway, I hate to be a downer, but there is a good chance you will have the symptoms of prostatitis once you are off the antibiotics. They still haven't found the underlying cause of prostatitis in 95% of cases (boy isn't THAT a frightening number!). The fact that you have no bacteria in either sample yet you have white cells and signs of inflammation in the prostate is classic for chronic prostatis.
HANG IN THERE. I feel that we are getting closer and closer to finding the cause of prostatitis. In fact, I just saw a study today that linked nonfat milk with increased prostate cancer risk - two things I NEVER thought would correlate.

I beleive this is what happened to me 6 weeks ago. I too can urinate with an erection if I put my mind to it and force it. After intercourse with my wife I had to urinate real bad and did. Within a day I stated to get a tingling sensation in the end of my penis. A week latter I got the pain in my urethra all the way back down to my prostate. I went in to the Urogist and he did a urine culture and a massage prostate fluid culture. No bacteria showed up in either sample. However, there were white cells and mucous in the prostate massage fluid. He put me on Cipro (bad move as I was allergic to it with intercrainal pressure) Changed now to Bactrim for six weeks. I have 4 more weeks to go on this. Fomax really helped the symptoms however climax is gone. Stopped taking it for now as it is masking the underlying problem of prostatitis. I want to know after I am off the Bactrim if my problem is gone.

do you get an erection when you have to pee as well? cause that seems to happen to me and the only way to get rid of it is through urinating or masterbation but i still have to pee after masterbating. i am also in the same boat as you when you say you can urinate with an erection. how you found out if thats a bad thing yet? cause ive always been able to do that and i thought it was normal.
I have always been able to urinate while I have an erection too. That is the only thing that seems to get rid of the "morning wood" the quickest!

That's good that your husband didn't have any problems past that week - some of us on this forum are experiencing crazy symptoms for years. It's like an attack on our manhood. Sounds crazy, but funny in a strange way :)
That sensitivity is very normal - I have the same thing with my wife. She teases me by saying she's gonna grab me and yank on me like a pull cord after I climax - and boy that would drive me nuts if she did it!
The taking awhile thing is normal too - he might have good control. It might feel naughtier to him to have manual/oral sex - it does me, and I tent to ejaculate quicker with oral.
The mind has a huge role in speed of climax too - sometimes I get very horny all of a sudden, and if my wife lets me maul her (lol) then I can climax within a minute. On the other hand, if we're doing "scheduled sex", I can go for fifteen minutes without ejaculating. Leads to much frustration.

In answer to your question about my husband's symptoms. Several months ago he described having a "sensation" that was uncomfotable in his penis. He also mentioned that he had flagging sexual desire. Genrally speaking my husband has a high sex drive. He went to the doctor who ran some blood test and found nothing. The doc prescribed an antibiotic and things cleared up for him in about a week. It has always taken my husband awhile to orgasm with vaginal sex but not so much with oral/manual. I just assumed that he had good control. And he becomes very sensitive after he climaxes. Is this normal?
He always gets frustrated when he has to go but can't, I should tell him it's a blessing not a curse. Take care.
I thought that too Yossarian, but apparently it's supposed to be impossible to urinate with a full erection, and very difficult with a partial. There's some sort of valve that is failing in our cases, I think - that theory about reflux of urine is from one of her urology colleagues. We're going to present that to him as a possibility. If we can get information regarding any correlation between prostatitis / shrinking penis / buzzing penis syndromes and ability to urinate through a boner, then we may be on to something.
