Unable to sustain "hard/solid" erection during sex or masturbation

I'm in my 20's and find it very easy to get an erection, often I will wake up with one and I can also maintain an erection for hours if i am just thinking about it while i am lying in bed.

My problem is sustaining a "hard" erection during masturbation or sex. After a while of masturbating my erection tends to taper off a bit and become less hard (not to the extend that it becomes flacid - just weaker). Then when i stop for a couple of seconds, my erections recovers somewhat and gets more solid again.

It's really annoying b/c at other times the hardness is a lot more when i am not doing anything!

Could this be a circulation thing, as my hands and feet often get cold in winter and i sense my heart sometimes has slight pulpitations.

Could be a circulation problem. Your doctor would have better answers. I'd definitely check with him. I'd be more concerned with your other symptoms like feeling your heart palpitate. Could all be part of the same problem.

Definitely make an appointment with your doctor and get this checked out.

It's fairly quick say 5-10 minutes and it starts to drop off during masturbation compared to being hard and erect for hours sometimes (but not doing anything i.e. not stroking).

How long is "after a while" ? Most guys will experience a dropoff in sensation or rigidity if their erection goes on for too long. Contrary to popular belief the average length of a sexual encounter is not a "go all night for hours" affair but more like 10 minutes or so.
