I put silver nitrate on my penis, now the skin is raw, when can I reapply?

Yesterday I applied silver nitrate to some tiny bumps on the base of the shaft of my penis- my best guess as to what they are is either genital warts or hair follicles that were bigger than my liking so I decided to chemically burn them off with silver nitrate. I applied silver nitrate and put the sticky part of a bandaid over it and left it for 24 hrs, when removed the top layer skin shed and the bumps are still present though now smaller and raw. I am wondering if it is safe to apply more silver nitrate to them off or if I should wait for the skin to heal a bit. I know if I apply it now that it will burn like hell.

Rintarou, did you put it in this sensitive area in an attempt to treat genital warts? It's not supposed to be used for that purpose. That said, here's from one of the articles about the use of silver nitrate:
"Repeated applications of silver nitrate may cause a gray or blue-black discoloration of treated skin. This is caused by the silver component of this medicine and is generally not harmful. However, silver nitrate can cause skin burns. If you are using this medicine at home, be sure you understand all directions for use and how to quickly neutralize the action of the medicine."

It sounds like you are more distressed by the discoloration and not saying you gave yourself skin burns. The article says the discoloration is generally not harmful. So try to relax.

Also, see your doctor for whatever you were using the silver nitrate to fix. It's not the medication for a body part like a penis.
You mentioned skin burns, I’m unfamiliar with what they look like, and a few patches of skin have become red and bleeding down there, and you’ve got me worried. Also I was wondering if you had any advice of removing the silver nitrate, considering I think I wildly over applied it. Thanks
I'm sorry but I don't have any advice for removing the silver nitrate. Where it's red and bleeding, try an over-the-counter cream like Neosporin, or simply see a doctor.
Many Thanks
