hernia problems

Well, I went in a little over a month ago to get a pain I had been having in my lower left abdomen with groin pain after running/exercising checked out. The doctor did a hernia check on both sides, to be safe, and found one on the right and not on the left. He said to come in after a month if the pain didnt go away on the left. Well its been about that time and the pain has become more of a problem. It became worse after playing a couple long games of basketball about 2 weeks ago. I tried playing some pick up football this past week and couldnt run and twist at the same time without sharp pain in my groin up to my abdomin. The pain is also in my scrotum after I workout too much and will remain for a couple of days after before residing. It also seems that whenever I rest it for a long period of time the pain comes back just as bad once I start exercising. Ive decided to limit myself just so I dont agitate it any further, but what should I do if the doctor cannot find it again. I dont have time to have surgery and was considering waiting until next year to have the right side repaired, but the left side just gets so painful and Im getting a little inpatient about it. What else could it be besides a hernia?

Hi,
Did you go  to the doctor when you were having pains? Some hernia is not persistent and you need to get checked up when you have symptoms. You may also get a check up with a neurologist for a possible pinged nerve of the lower back area.

It does sound like a hernia, which your Dr did say it was. I take it you have'nt been back to see him? If you need surgery you might want to think about getting it over with before or in case things get worse.
