Basically I have to suck it up

Me- Military wife of 13 years, 3 children. I have suffered migraines for years. However since about February, I have dealt with a daily headache. I have had 3 catscans, 3 MRIS, a Lumbar Puncture with an opening pressure of 245 and went up to 270. All normal..... The neurlogist then thought maybe it was psuedo tumor cerbrai. I have been on about every medciation under the sun, and taken off many meds as well. I am to the point where I have a hard time concentrating, I have sensory overload, and it's getting to the point I want to just give up. I spend alot of time at home in bed, because I can't handle it. My vision isn't so great, but my isual field is normal, and apparently my eyes seem normal. I do have a cyst in my sinuses, but they are sure that is not the cause. *shrugs* The pain is in the back of my head and on my forehead, the pain is so bad my eyes feel as if they are going to pop out.

I am sure there are many out there that deal with this and I apologize if this seems petty to what most deal with. My question is how do you deal with it, when there is no relief? I have gone to the ER twice this week. I honestly prefer not to go that route, one sitting there waiting countless hours, with many sick, vomitting, yelling kids, and waiting for hours. To be treated with narcotics that dull that headache briefly and an hour after you leave it's back in full motion. Help....

just one last note, many of the pain management clinics do not need referals, they take walk in's so check them out in your local phone book or on line... ;lots of luck with your search and finding some help.

yeah, my BP sky rockets with the headaches too.

you have to get with a pain management doctor/clinic, it truly is your only hope. a good doctor/clinic will get you on some medication and help you get through life with as little pain as possible. I found mine through the federal blue cross blue shield preferred provider list where I live, you need to get with one, they are a God send for someone in your condition. a Neurologist or regular doctor will rarely prescribe pain meds if ever. it has to be a pain clinic or pain management clinic/doctor. just go for it, some of the base hospitals even have them...

Oh goodness, forty years. I am so sorry. I feel bad for even complaining, but at the same time can not function. Should have also added that my blood pressure has been crazy up and down as well, not sure if it is even related. I can say that when my head is throbbing so bad I can tell my BP is high. They dope me up, and poof my BP goes down so they think I am fine. No, it just dulls the pain temporarily, then I am back up to a 10 again within an hour or so. Uggg I don't think I can handle 40 years, let alone too much longer. I am seriously losing my mind, or feel like it.

Past few months sveral ER trips, and I am at the point I want someone to just knock my head off or just completely knock me out so there is no more pain. Thank you so much for responding, it meant a lot to me. Am in quite a bit of pain at the moment, and really don't want to make another visit to the ER. So tired of it all.

hi, I have been dealing with headaches for over 40 years, and after a wreck a year ago I have had the same thing you describe for one year now. since I already had headaches forever I had a pain management doctor so I just increased my narcotic pain meds to take care of the daily headaches. Mind you, they just dull the pain because I still have to function and work and carry on a daily life so I can;t be doped up. (as a note I am opiod tolerant after 40 years)
I am having a cervical discectomy with fusion in May hope that stops the daily headaches for me. if not I will stay on the pain meds, because no one can live with that kind of pain all the time. Dear, you need to get a pain doctor and get some pain meds, as long as you don't abuse them you wont become an addict, I quit every year for about a month just to make sure Im not addicted and after 40 years am still not, so they are safe if taken as directed. get some help with your pain...
