Eye issues!!!!!

2 weeks ago, my right eye went completely blurry and almost no site - i looked in mirror and it appeared that i had no pupil in one eye. I took a picture of it and showed family and friends - very strange -- what can it be?

HI!   Thanks so much for responding.  It was the black (pupil) that appeared to disappear or go very tiny. It seemed like a thick fog. I did have adenovirus in august - september 2010 and stayed on  steriod drops for a few months and believe I still have scars.  Its frustrating  - Im guessing cause I still get "goop" it must have been a good amount that blocked but not sure.

Hi,
How are you? Can you elaborate on the absence of the pupil in one eye? What other symptoms were present? The iris is the colored part of the eye that controls the amount of light that goes into the eye. Without the iris, bright light can be very uncomfortable. The absence of this part is called aniridia which is usually congenital in nature.  Other conditions such as glaucoma, foveal hypoplasia, corneal degeneration, cataracts, diabetes or glucose intolerance, Wilms' tumor, genital abnormalities and mental retardation can also be associated with aniridia. If it persists or recurs, it is best that you have this checked by your eye doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
