Headaches & Pressure in head

First, I would like to state that up until 3 weeks ago, I didn't experience any of the symptoms I have now. Prior to heaving these intermitten spells with mild headaches and a dull pressure sensations throughout my head, I had just finished a 30 day body detoxification. The product that I took was called Cleanse Smart by Renew Life. Its an all herbal cleanse with no side effects associated with it according to the manufacturer. During the 30 day period I never felt completely rejuvenized or full of energy which the cleansers claim to do. In fact, I felt kind of fatigued and slightly out of it the entire time. I figured this was a result of the toxins in my body being released and I would eventually feel much better.

After finishing the 30 day cycle, they company recommends taking their product called Paragone which focusses on parasite removal. I figured since I was 27 years old, eat sushi, steaks cooked medium, it wouldn't hurt to try it out. After 2 days on this new product, I started feeling really strange at work. I have suffered with GERD/GASTRITIS (my own diagnosis since previous doctors had no clue) for the past 6 years, but this product made my stomach hurt. I started feeling light-headed and my heart raced. I had an instant anxiety attack and had to leave work. I went to my mothers house and laid down for a few hours with thoughts of going to the emergency room but luckily the feeling eventually subsided. After this strange occurence, I went online and did some research on a few herbs mixed into this cleanse and some of them had bad side effects in very rare cases. Maybe I was another rare case?

So, here I am a few weeks later with mild headaches and a dull pressure like feeling in my head. These headaches fit the description of a typical "tension headache". I have neck tightness, dull pain at the base of my skull/neck area, sides of my head, and sometimes above my eyes. I went to an eye doctor since I work in front of a computer for atleast 8hrs/day and have done so for the past 6-7 years. My vision was still perfect but the doctor said CVS (computer vision syndrome) is typical and prescribed me some glasses for computer use only. While the glasses have helped some, they definitely didnt fix the whole problem. I went back to the doctor and they are redoing the lenses now in hopes to rid the headaches completely.

Even when Im not working and havent been in front of a computer in hours, I still have some of the symptoms. The dull pressurized feeling is more frequent than the "aches" that intermittenly come in waves. At times I even feel slightly dizzy. Not to the point that I'm going to fall, or the room is spinning, but slightly off bal and slightly hard to focus. There are other feelings that are present but I'm not sure if I can explain them correctly. My head feels cloudy, almost like Im slightly intoxicated while being completely sober.

I have no clue whats causing these odd symptoms. Maybe its a coincedence that they followed after my first full body detox or maybe not. I'm not sure if they are somehow related or if the computer is causing a strain on my eyes and is associated with everything else.

Thanks so much for the replies.

I recently got my new lenses and they seemed to have helped some. I also bought some non-medicated saline nasal spray which has also helped. While it hasnt cleared up all the symptoms 100%, it is much better.

Today I had a doctor appointment, and my doctor recommended that I try a Neti Pot like the one found here.

After reading some of these reviews, I'm hoping this will help. Many people with chronic sinusitis, claims this has helped them tremendously.

Each year, I tend to suffer with seasonal allergies. The majority of the time the symptoms are your typical sneezing, coughing, runny nose, etc... Currently I have none of these symptoms, just the (sinus?) pressure feeling in my head.

Also, I was very suprised that my doctor was interested in the cleanse I had just completed. She printed off all the ingredients/herbs from the website and is looking into them. She also took some blood to look into it further.

HI THERE!!  i was diagnosed with migraines YEARS ago.... and it was just recently that i was diagnosed with chronic sinusitis. it is absolutely awful!!! the pain is almost unbearable. i was diagnosed with it by my prenatal doctor 4 months ago ( iam currently 5 months pregnant) and have had sinus pain and stuffiness EVERYDAY for at least the last 5 months. my doctor is thinking that i dont have migraines at all, it is all sinus related. but it only affects the left side of my body. left arm and hard sometimes go numb, my lips go numb as well as my left cheek and ear. i see read spots, i definately cant drive, and i feel like im slurring my words when i talk. i did notice that my nasal passages seem to be stuffed up whenever i have a migraine. so im thinking that i do have chronic sinusitis and migraines combined. mri and ct scan came up clear... but my face xrays showed extra fluid in my sinuses. i dont know what to think or where to go from here. and because i am pregnant, there really isnt a whole lot they can do for me right now. if you know of something that i dont, please feel free to comment!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

I feel that you are still anxious about the symptoms that you went through after the detoxification. This could manifest as daily headaches. This may be a case of tension headaches. Also, I would think of an eye problem as well as a probable cervicogenic headache.

I suggest that you wait for the new lenses and see if they will improve your symptoms. Also, try to get a good support for the neck and back. A bad posture and poor neck and head support may lead to headaches.

Do your headaches occur everyday? If they do not, then taking pain relievers may help. Take pain relievers only when necessary.

Are there any known triggers for the headaches like bright lights, food and loud noises?

You describe symptoms that I have had for 3 months now since coming down with a 103 degree fever back in early February.  I am very active and healthy, so this has been hard to take.  I never feel symptom free, some of the pressure headaches i"ve had stop me in my tracks.  I did get an mri 6 days ago and my doc said it revealed chronic sinusitus.  He gave me some antibiotics, which had me feeling better for 4 days, but now I've slipped back into feeling wierd again.  I am an engineer, so I need to be on my game at work.  But sometimes I feel so zoned out (especially after being on the computer for a long time-interesting you feel that too) that I have to close my eyes somewhere.  2 weeks ago I felt like I was blacking out, and my hand trembled.  That part in no way sounds sinus related.  I have another visit with my neuro next tuesday. Very frustrating.  Any comments back would be appreciated!  Bret in MN

I will add that from working in front of a computer all day, my neck does get tight and aches. My wife is a massage therapy and performs deep tissue massages on my neck to help relieve the tension. This has helped with my random/intermitten headaches but not so much the dull pressure that I feel throughout my head.
