Headaches after accident

Hello -

I was in a car accident in November 2006. I was out of my vehicle assisting at an accident scene when I was hit by a car and was thrown against a concrete barrier. I had a large goose-egg on the side of my head as well as a black eye. Ever since this time, I have been experiencing some light sensitivity in my right eye, and I get migrane-like headaches from time to time. These symptoms have become progressively better; they were very frequent immediately following the accident but have since lessened in severity and do not occur as frequently.

I am not sure what could be causing this, as there does not appear to be any structural damage to my eye... is this common after accidents such as this and can you point me in any direction in terms of seeking treatment?

Thanks kindly!

Shauna.

i was in a car accident nearly 2 years ago.  total body whiplash and tbi.  the headaches are hell and have lasted up to 30 days with no break.
allergic to most pain meds or unaffordable.  use biofeedback, meditation, reg. neck exercises each day.
body has continuous spasm in rib cage and other parts of body.  short term mrmory sometimes is horrid---takes brain time too process.  hsve trouble sleeping due to spasms.  xanx, cymbalta are my life savers--never had high blood pressure--now take 2 rx's.
even forgot son's birthday.  also have adhd.  any advise--used to be avid reader--forget that!!

Hi,

Have you got a CT scan of the head done after your accident?

Have you been to a neurologist after your accident?

It would be best to consult a neurologist and get a CT scan of the head done now, if it has not been done previously.

Also, discuss with the neurologist if you need to take any medications or you need an eye examination.

Till you get an appointment you could take OTC pain relief medications.

Do let us know about the progress.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
