Headaches cant sleep

Hi im new here and im going to say sorry ahead of time if I misspell anything ok please understand I have a condition that causes headaches its called pseudotumor ceribri I have a vp shunt thats up and running and a lp shunt that they clamped off due to issues but we wont get into that on becouse thats not my issue I was doing ok my headaches were managable not gone but I was doing the best I had sence my diagnoses ok untill 3 & 1/2 weeks ago when all of a sudden bam the worse headache not even my pain meds will touch it and im on the heavy stuff at first I didnt want to call my nuro doc becouse sence my diagnoses ive spent every christmas in the hospital and by gosh not this one my children deserve to have mom home right or I want to I want to see them open there gifts becouse with my condition comes blindness if not controlled and unfortally my vision is going so I dont no how many more christmases ill get to see but I did end up calling he has let me stay home for now but said if my test showed any concerning things then he was sorry so my issue is now my headache is so bad I cant sleep not with pain meds and sleeping pills (let me refraze sleep I can dose 35min at night and then maybe dose off about 45min sometime in the day but other than that nothing my doc even upped my sleep aid and still nope any body else have simular issues that they can tell me what they did or any suggestions im at a loss but feel that I really need sleep

No they havent but ill bring it up with my doc and have him check it I got my MRI results today it showed no change from my last one so I asked why the headaches again im disappointed that we havnt figured it out but happy there was no change too so I asked if they thought if I could of somehow changed my shunts setting ive met a few who have haf it happen with like iPads and lap tops one person she went to court and the metal detector changed the setting even though she didnt go through it just her being by it did it some say toys with magnets can do it too I teach children and the little ones are always puting toys on or by my head so it makes me think is it possible could this be my issue and if so how does one avoid magnetic fields they are everywhere nowdays im waiting to here back but I will definitely he talk to my doctor about the thyroid and I will keep you informed thanks

Have they checked your thyroid function in regards to the weight loss?  When you don't do much, muscle, which weighs more, can break down into fat, which weighs less, so that may account for a part of it as well as if you are eating less.  But I hope too they have checked your thyroid function and possibly for cancer markers as any big flux in weight in either direction in a short span of time is something they should try to rule out cancer for, I think.

Thanks for the prayers yes I do have others that can pray with me I just had a blessing done its something my church does im LDS I thought about acupuncture but when I started talking to my doctor about it he advised me not too becouse of the fact im out of wack with my blood thinners but he did up my sleeping meds and pain meds even though I didnt want a higher dose of pain meds I want off them but he said that when we get things worked out he would wirk on getting me off the pain meds he aslo said that hes going to suggest to my nuro doc about refuring me to the mayo clinic so hopefully we can get answers on to why my pseudotumor is so complicated and im not get better tiday I got weighed I have lossed 95lbs total without trying and I eat becouse my husband makes me but I dont move around much so I dont understand the loss in weight all of its been sence april 15th this year ive come to the conclusion that its all in gods hands and all I can do is take it one day at a time and that he only gives one things he feels that you can handle so he must think alot of us that deal with all these medical mysteries he must really believe we are strong today my daughter came up to me and covered me up shes 8yrs old & said as she was brushing my hair back off my forehead with her hand mommy dont worrie try to sleep ill take care of everything now im a big girl you need to not worrie ive told the monsters to leave and asked the angels to tell you mom your sick and send her back so you can get better becouse mommys make everything better .... I just cryed what a loving child shes going to be a great mom when shes older well ive I have to try to take a nap shes keeps coming in and my head is just killing but again thanks for the prayers

I have prayed for you.  Do you have others who can pray with you for this situation?  I am sorry you are having such a rough time of it!  

You might see if you there is an acupuncturist who can try to help you with the sleep department as well as the pain.  

I have had trouble sleeping when pain keeps me awake.  I typically use promethazine along with pain medication in the evening for migraines.
