I don't know what to do anymore

Hey my names Amanda and I'm 19. I've been suffering from migranes for the past 5 or 6 years now. I've tried medicines like imetrex and preventitives, but nothing works. Also, within the past couple years or so I've had other symptoms. Almost everyday I get a small to medium headache (not a migrane), I get really dizzy and light headed, nauseous, hot flashes, rapid heart beat, and I always feel tired. Occasionally my fingers and toes will get tingly and numb too. I had an MRI done a few years ago along with an EKG and recently i was tested for thyroid problems, hypoglycemia, and anemia, but everything was normal. I should also mention that I have been taking zoloft for depression for about 4 years. I try to get a good sleep every night and eat well, but it's not working. Occasionally advil helps with the headaches, but nothing works on the migranes. I went to the doctor and told her everything but she didn't really seem too worried, she just blamed it all on depression. I really don't believe that is the case though because I know what depression feels like, and this is not it. I feel like something is really wrong but nobody can find anything or they just don't believe me. I'm starting to give up. Am I a hypochondriac or is there really something wrong with me?

Hi,
How is your daughter? One type of migraine headache, hemiplegic migraine, may sometimes present with numbness and tingling. Further evaluation may need to be done by a neurologist for proper management. Imaging studies may likewise help rule out organic causes. Take care and do keep us posted.

Hi,
How are you? A recent MRI may help identify the possible cause of your headaches. Both preventive and abortive migraine medications may help provide relief. If the headache persists, it is best that you have this checked for further evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.

This sounds EXACTLY like my daughter, except she's not on antidepressants.  Did you ever find out what was wrong?

Maybe you have been on zoloft too long?  I have had an SSRI help migraine.  I have had a different one cause migraine.
Side effects of zoloft that can occur (looked online):
increased sweating
fast heartbeat
dizziness
weakness
fatigue
drowsiness
nausea
tingling or pins and needles
headache

If you decide to go off the Zoloft, it should be done slowly under a doctor's supervision.  It can be really tough to go off of, but if it is causing a lot of side effects for you, it is worth it.  For the depression, you might want to try going the natural route.  I was recommended Sam-E, Naturemade brand.  Also, fish oil capsules, but I didn't like the fishy taste coming up, so I switched to flaxseed oil capsules, 1000 mg twice a day.  I also had the recommendation of eating things high in omega fatty acids, including walnuts, pumpkin seeds, macadamia nuts, freshwater fish, such as salmon and tuna.

Have you tried acupuncture for your migraines?
