I keep getting bizarre headaches that have been around for about 6 months. Worst in the Morning, sharp shooting pain through the day only on the right side of my head.... what's going on here?

About six months ago I noticed that I started getting headaches when I first got up in the morning, they last for about 30 minutes and then go away for a few hours.   Then around noon I start getting these sharp headaches on the right side of my head.  It only last for about 5-10 seconds and I usually get them about 10 times per hour.  Sometimes they make me stop doing whatever I'm doing and I feel really dizzy.  If I bend over to pick something up, my head throbs and I sometimes black out for a few seconds.  The same thing happens when I stand up.  My friends have told me that I just seem "different", they discribe it as looking worn out.  I went through a phase about a month ago where I would just fall asleep all the time, I still feel tired all the time I just dont fall asleep during the day. I've also noticed that I have trouble spitting out words, I kind of stutter before saying words sometimes. Or I cant find the right word to say and other people have to tell me what word I'm looking for.  And recently I've been really confused doing regular things, especially during school.  Concentrating seems really hard, I always find my mind wandering when I'm doing homework or in conversations with people.  My mom has noticed that I stare off into space all the time, I dont notice that I'm doing it until she gets my attention. I think the headaches are eye related, mabye eye strain or something. I have glasses but only wear them for class, they provide temporaty relief but I still get the sharp headaches and the ones in the moring.  But as for the other symptoms I have no clue.  I'm 16 and I'm very active and healthy.  I run almost every day, but after I run my head feels like it's spinning.  My coach thinks it's because I dont drink enough water, but I drink about two water bottles every day. so it's obviously not dehydration.  I dont really want to go see a doctor because the chances of anything being wrong are really slim, and I'm just not a fan of doctors. these symptoms all started in a two weeks time span.  Does anyone have any ideas as to whats going on.

Hi,

Have you been diagnosed with migraine headaches or tension headaches before?

Based on your post ,you seem to be an active and outgoing person. One differential for your headache will be a cervicogenic headache. These headaches are due to an underlying cervical spine problem. Engaging in rough or contact sports, activities that require bending and straining may only aggravate the condition.

I understand that you find it discomforting seeing doctors. However, you have posted other symptoms as well. Decreased concentration, stuttering and sleepiness may warrant further evaluation. Other factors of course have to be considered. It may be that you are just tired and busy lately.

Have you been under a lot of stress lately?

Are you getting enough sleep and are you eating well?

I suggest that you inform you parents about this so they may help you set an appointment with your doctor. A CT scan of the cervical spine of the neck may help. Also a baseline cranial scan may be indicated after a complete neurologic examination.

You may have electromagnetic radiation poisoning -- it's what I have -- I don't have a solution other than turning off your cell phone, wifi, cordless phones.   Do research -- and share what you find -- maybe together we can solve this.
