"One mentioned a noticeable change in the amount of "buzz" he gets from drinking compared to younger years and I agree with this. Less buzz. But we may be the only two."
I want to explore this as i get this too. definitely do not get the same buzz as previosuly. Anyone?
You should be able to get the generic topamax at any Walmart pharmacy. If anxiety or stress are the root problem for his migraines, it would be very important to identify what the stressors are and try to eliminate them.
I would suggest that he try the topamax before any anxiety medication. Klonopin and its generics can lead to addiction problems and it dosen't take many daily doses to get to comfortable with it. If you and his Doctor believe that stress is the root cause, you might want to try St John's Wort if his Doctor agrees. It is available over the counter at vitamin and most stores.
Hi Eddie1994, thank you for answering us we are at the end of our rope so to speak, and can use all the help we can get, I have read so many horrible things on the internet about the visual side effects of topamax I wasn't sure if we should even try it we did find an online pharmacy that provided the generic version at a very affordable price it was just the side effects I was concerned about. Have yall ever heard about trying Klonopin for migranes? I have read alot online about people who take more than one drug like pain meds and antianxiety meds mixed together does your wife do that or do know anyone who does it just sounds lilke too many meds. But we are willilng to do just about anything right now. Thank you for all your help.
There is a generic version of Topamax so it will be substantially cheaper. I really do think this is one of the more effective daily medications. My wife has been taking it since 2002 and the side effects are minimal for her.
The problem with prescription drugs is when they are released they basically have a contract.to charge outrageous prices for an agreed upon amount of time.
Has he tried amitryptiline? I may have spelled it wrong. Its been around for quite some time so it is quite inexpensive. I suffer from chronic migraines and that is what i take between 10 to 50mg a night it worked amazingly. Unfortunately i cant take them.right now due to being pregnant:) and its killing me.
If he hasnt tried it i would suggest it. Like all drugs it doesnt work with everyone. The major side effects is needing more sleep and dry mouth. Not too bad.
Also a good sleep routine can go a long way:)
Thank you for your help and concern we appreciate it. We have not tried vitamin D or the calcium but we will now. He says he was taking magnesium but stopped so we will start that again and I am not sure what celiac disease is but I am going to look that up right now! Thank you!
So sorry he is suffering like this.
Have him checked for Celiac disease. Gluten is what triggers migraines for me. I think maybe dairy can too, but I'm not sure. Have his eyes checked. Make sure he isn't having undetected constipation as that can trigger migraines. Have him take calcium 500 mg and vitamin D 2000 mg at bedtime and magnesium citrate in the morning.
