Unsteady and headaches on and off

I had suffered  fever for 13days and was only diagnosed with Viral Menigitis on the 15days after a lumbar tap. I was given an IVof NS and acyclovir(prophylaxis accdg to my doctor) for 3 days every 8 hours. My fever subsided and totally gone, and headache started. Tylenol ES was not effective with this headache and I was prescribed with Hydromorph 3mgSR every 12 hours and then 1 mg breakthrough every 6hours. It helps me for a week. I was discharge and the headche gets worst, i started vomiting once a day, weak and unsteady. Its now 18days and the headache still here, I am still feeling dizzy when start walking and when I stand up- sitting and lying position is much better, only slight headache and plus sometimes I also feel like my ears are plugged.I stopped taking hydromorp after 5 days and switch to Tylenol ES/ alternating with ibuprofen 400mg everytime I feel the headache is coming- I noticed that hydromorphone makes me more "sick" nausea/vomiting after taking it. May i know how many weeks or months will I still suffer with this headche, nausea and dizziness and feeling of unsteady? I also gag or vomiting when I smell perfumes or anything from the kitchen when my husband cooks. Why like this-please help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? It usually takes a few weeks for the infection to clear out. It is important that you go for follow-up with your doctor and avoid the conditions that trigger your headache. If one of our medicine does not work, inform your doctor about this for proper management. A shift to a stronger medicine or another type may be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.

have you told your docs about your symptoms? I'm no expert on viral meningitis, but I'd say that any change in your body this marked after being discharged from the hospital should be reported to your GP if no one else.

My aunt was admitted months at a time, quite a few times, for viral meningitis. And ultimatly they found out it was stress causing hers. With her stress, It was where she lived, and who was stessing her out. Once she moved, she hasn't had a reoccurance. My sister in law who was admitted last year for the same thing, also was told hers was caused by stress. Did they mention if there was a cause for yours?
