Worrying Headaches!

Hi

I have a headache that is starting to worry me quite a bit. I had similar headaches a few years ago when I worked at the bank, and was put down to work related stress, sure enough, when I left the bank it stopped.

Ive started to get the headaches again. its towards the upper right rear/middle (looking side on at my head it would be NW above my ear!), and above my right temple. This pain is accompanied with a sore eye. My right eye feels slightly blurred, and i have a constant irritating feeling that its dry and need to wink to relieve the irritation. My right ear also feels slightly blocked, but no pain. Left hand side I dont really have any complaints about at all

I feel fine in the morning, and the pain gets worse throughout the day at intervals. Right now, its 7pm and Im exhausted (I took the day off work today), my arms and legs are pretty tired. Im yawning a lot! The pain doesnt wake me up at night either

I play the trumpet in a band and need to play fairly loud, I also lead a busy life, being out 4-5 nights a week at various things (dont do to clubs or much places of loud volume!) Though when I listen to music it does hurt a tiny amount

I dont drink or smoke. Im 25 years old and male. Work and home life has been getting me down a little, you know, constant poking! Home situation does worry me quite a lot and get me down. I realise my symptoms may be the result of that, but Im more worried incase its something more serious.

I think that covers pretty much everything!

Any help is gratefully recieved

Hi, Im only 14, I play trumpet in my High school band and lately I have the same symptoms. when I play my trumpet at home my head hurts to the point that i cant stand it especially when i go above the top bar. My eyes also get blurry when im playing and sometimes when im not. My head pain is mainly on the right side, sometimes ibuprophen works but i can barely practice. Let me know if our symptoms are together in someway. Thanks.

Hi,
I also feel that you need to consult a physician to rule out acute sinusitis. Meanwhile try steam inhalation and see if that helps. Also cut down on your stress levels. Most of the problems can be worked out by discussing and openly expressing ones feelings.Good luck!

Hi,
The trumpet will need to go for a while and see if that brings a little bit of relief in your symptoms. Start with some conventional OTC painkillers and see if they help the headache to go away. Drink planty of fluids and catch adequate sleep at night. Also try some antiianxiety medication like alprazolam for some time. It would be advisable to get an ENT and eye check up to rule out any eyesight or ear related problems causing the headaches. Try some breathing exercises and yoga. This should help you. But if the headaches still persist consult your physician/ neurologist to get a complete evaluation done.
