Hi.
I've been on cumbalta for severe daily migraines and am being taken off of it. I wouldn't recommend it due to the side affects it gave me. Granted, it effects people in different ways.
For me, it did absolutely nothing for my migraines. If anything, they were worse.
My symptoms included: inner tremble throughout entire body, tingles and burning in hands and feet, severe depression and suicidal thoughts and actions, increased nausea, fatigue, weakness, severe chest pain, irritated eyes, increased thirst, excessive night sweats, and many more.
Now, i am very sensitive to meds, but this one was by far the worst. I had just about every "rare side effect" listed for this medication.
I would absolutely not recommend it.
Good luck!
Hi,
Cymbalta and triptans like imitrex should never be taken together as they can cause a serious life threatening condition called serotonin syndrome. So please be careful.
I know they prescribe cymbalta for fibromyalgia and other conditions which include headaches in their symptomology and for depression (often a problem with migraines). I recently was advised to stop cymbalta as I was on Maxalt and other meds which they have now found to cause some kind of dangerous reactions. Be sure your sister checks with her pharmacist if the doctor gives samples to her as mine did to me. I went to get the refill to find out that some people may have even had fatal or near fatal reactions with the cymbalta and with certain drug combinations especially including sumatriptan drugs. I am not a pharmacist; I am just repeating what I was advised by my pharmacist. Probably others can enlighten you better than I have.
