fresh mozzarella

Is fresh Mozzarella cheese relatively low in tyramine and hence safe for consumption in migraineurs? I only eat ricotta, cream cheese, Velveeta and American cheese, but I'd like to be able to add something with a little more depth to my recipes...

Thanks

Hi,

Yes Mozzarella cheese is low in Tyramine content when compared to Swiss, Blue cheese etc. But it should be consumed in moderate amounts only because the quantity you consume will determine the tyramine amount in the body.
So it is ok to add Mozzarella to your recipes once in a while.

Thanks
