A large number of clinical studies have found the association between IBS and migraine.
Migraine patients are more prone to IBS and vice versa. The association is still being worked out and the role of brain gut axis is being studied. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter released from the intestine and is also involved in the pathogenesis of migraine.
