My family has a history of migraines...There are several things that you can try. See your dentist ask them about your TMJ joint or see if you suffer from an infection from a bad tooth. Sometimes Midol is the best over the counter medicine you can take for migraines. My grandfather took midol for his migraines, it was the best thing that worked. There are also sinus migraines, check with your doctor for sinus infections or allergies.
Yikes, 5 days of that would wear me out. If it were me, I would try an icepack on the area that hurts, hot showers always help me relax, over the counter medicines... Just start trying different things to take the edge off and make an appointment with your doctor. There are a lot of different medications you can have on hand when bad headaches start so you dont have to feel miserable for too long. I have a prescription for Imitrex and only take it on rare occassion when I feel a whopper headache/migraine coming on. Otherwise, I just take ibuprophen/Advil if my head is a little achy.
I really hope you feel better soon. Stay in touch :)
i dont know either whats really happening to me. its been 5 consecutive days until now.. sometimes when its too painful i cant even open my mouth that wide.. when i sneeze or cough its very painful too.. maybe i should not continue taking medicines at all.. i dont even know of its a migraine or just a headache..
Hi Nicole, Im not really sure what is going on in your case, but I know with my migraines they are left-sided at my temple and often extend down into my nose and ear. The migraines usually last 24-36 hours, but I cant make them go away by massaging the area or taking over the counter medications.
