right temple swelling

I am a daily marijuana user.  Over the past couple of months, every now and then after smoking, my right temple begins hurting.  When i place my hand over my right temple it feels really swollen.  I can feel the vein and my heartbeat protruding.  The pain i feel is only in my right temple where it is swollen.  Sometimes i feel the pain all the way up my veins on the right side of my head.  When i move my head or neck i can also feel a bit of pain in that area. Right now it hurts and becomes swollen everytime i smoke, for the past two days.  It hurt really bad yesterday so i had to lay off a bit.  I have been a daily marijuana smoker for about 5 years and i have never experienced this until a couple months ago when it first happened.  I dont know if i bought some bad stuff, cuz it looks kinda bad.  But this is not the first time it has happened.  Or could it be the marijuana is catching up to me and i could be suffering aortic damage or annuerism.  I have many friends who use daily a lot more than I do and for longer and have never experience this.

Hi,

It could be a dilated vein due to continuous use of marijuana. Longterm marijuana use leads to increase in blood pressure and that is what you are probably experiencing. Please schedule an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.

OMG that happened to me on a flight from Florida to Detroit, as soon as we started to decend the swelling went down...so weird the right temple looked like when you press your tongue against your cheek really hard.  What is that, now it has happened twice only when in flight.
