Thanks a lot, I haven't had migraine for two weeks (touch wood!!) fortunately. But I am now on a special diet due to very low ( but extremely low so that hospitalization may be required) levels of K+ and Cl+ so I do need to eat lots of oranges. As a matter of facts I hate 90% of the foods you listed: especially bananas and cheese, and I am allergic to chocolate and processed foods so food shouldn't be the problem but I'll keep alert on any coincidences. Thanks for suggesting excercise. Unfortunately doctors in Italy don't listen to patients because they believe that since patients haven't studied medicine they don't understand anything. Bye
Hi,
How are you? Regular exercise and diet may indeed be very helpful with managing migraine. A migraine diet may not be as effective to everyone but may be a good start to manage the attacks. This includes removing caffeine and alcohol, avoiding chocolate, cheese, M.S.G., nuts, vinegar, citrus fruits, bananas, raspberries, avocados, onions, yogurt, sour cream, ice cream, aspartame and all aged, cured, fermented, marinated, smoked, tenderized or nitrate-preserved meats. There are many possible triggers for migraine that may vary from one person to another. A headache journal may help identify and avoid your triggers. Aside from diet, complementary medicine such as acupuncture and biofeedback therapy may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
