Hi shak24,

You should see your family doctor or a neurologist for diagnosis.

You also shouldn't wait 3 hours before taking medication to treat your headache. Most headaches need to be treated as soon as they start for effective relief. Take medication when the headache starts so that the headache doesn't have a chance to last for 3 hours. If you find that you are using medication more than a few times a week, it is important to discuss this with your doctor because taking over-the-counter pain killers too often can cause rebound headaches. But, it is still important to treat your headaches, so please ask a doctor for an acute treatment plan for these headaches.

Hi,
How are you? Was there a personal history of head trauma? Can you elaborate on your headache? The location and character would help us determine if it is a primary headache such as migraine, tension or cluster headache. Secondary headaches such as those with organic causes can be ruled out with imaging modalities such as CT scan. Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
