Headache Right Side then goes to Left Side

I am on birth control for the last 8 years. With Diane 35, Severe Headaches, switched 3 months ago to Yasmin. I get my period thusday-no headache. Go to sleep. Friday-awake with headache on my right side. From the neck up to the front. Behind my eye. Upper teeth hurt. My jaw cracks sometimes when I move it. The headache continues straight into Saturday - the pain does not go away or diminish. I go to sleep saturday. Wake up on sunday morning, the Headache is now on the left side of my head with the same symptoms. Today is the third day of my headache. I don't know if this is related to the pill or to something else. Normally I have headaches like this during the month as well, same types last for two days. Please help. I have done tests and there are no problems. If i drink coffee in the mornings i find that i dont get headaches than if i dont drink, i get more headaches. i also have low blood pressure. i have been using syndol for the headaches but recently it has stopped working.

Hi,
I have done several tests and none came up with any problems. I did MRI and Electro tests  blood tests, even an ultrasound and nada.

Well the headache went after a few days then last night i took the yasmin (after the 7 day break) and this morning woke up with a headache. I think I am gonna stop the pill and just use another method of birth control like condoms.

The other problem now is how to help balance my hormones now that I have decided to stop the pill. What should i eat, what supplements should i take?

I am currently new migrated to Canada, so I have to wait 3 months before I can get on Health Insurance. During this time, i plan to keep a headache diary to track my headaches.

Thanks to all for the responses.

I have the same exact problem too.  I quit birth control last summer b/c i wanted to see if it would work to quit. but it did not work to quit.  I was yasmin for awhile then i had mirena put in that is a dui, and then i had that removed due to yeast infections and then i switched to a pill called loestrin24 for awhile.  then last summer i quit it all and wanted to see if my head pains went away in the sides of my heads and a foggy feeling in my head, burning type feeling and tingles and such.  but nothing changed. i also had an ent find polyps in my sinuses and deviated septum and had that fixed in surgery and four months later i feel the same as befor so that also did not work.  I noticed anxiety from worrying about what this might be makes my symptoms worse actually and if i try to steer my mind off it i feel better enough to go on each day if i do not start to worry about it again.  I have also been using xanax once a day to help me sleep b/c at night i would worry about all this and have anxiety from the worry and no one to help me not worry.  i have kids and im married, im a homemaker.  so stress is there often specially with my 3 yr old.  of course life is always stressful even before kids.  I get neck pains, those same head pains, tingling in my head and cheek.  i feel sick a lot even though i never actually get sick i do get nauseated sometimes.  being in a car for too long gets me anxious and i feel worse. although i have not had a ct scan or mri done my mom and others have in my family that have had these same problems in life and always came back clear , then got diagnosed with migraines and anxiety etc. tension headaches.  depression from it all b/c its very consuming.  feeling bad every single day can do that to you.  i have been feeling like this for about two yrs.  the headaches on the sides of my head and across the top of my head started a year ago.  pressure started two yrs or so ago.  in a couple months im hoping to go rule out anything serious with xrays of my neck and spine and ct scan and MRI, just waiting for ins to kick in.  but i just want to say that what helps me get through my days at home with my kids is to avoid stressful situations like going shopping at busy places, neti potting two times daily,  breathing through my nose, trying to exercise and move around, and thinking about other things.  and not letting myself get too angry or i feel worse.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? What tests were done already? If the tests were normal, this can be caused by primary headaches such as migraine or tension headaches. It is also possible that the headaches you experience are due to the oral contraceptive pill Yasmin. Migraine which presents with one-sided headache is a common side effect. Rebound headaches from medication overuse can also be one cause. If it persists, you may need to have this checked by your doctor for proper management. Both preventive and abortive medications for migraine may help. Take care and regards.
