Headache

I have had migraine headaches for a very longtime I had recently been on the diet medicine adipex and then I stopped taking them cause I know how to controll my appetite. We'll on Valentines Day I had the worst headache of my life like someone stbabing me @ the top of my head . Went to the Dr I was given HCT 25mg well this medicine made me feel so tired and withdrawn I decided myself after I called the Dr several times to break the pill in half and take half in the am and the other half @ nite well unfortunately the headaches dont stop . They have totally disrupted my life I have missed 10 days from work mind you before this I had perfect attendance never late or anything I have been scheduling appontments going to ER and the whole nine yards I have children to raise and I dont want to died these headaches are horrible.... And then when they relieve a little bit by taking sinus meds and excedrin migraine its still a lingering headache no pain though but you know its there and its coming back.... it wakes me up in the middle of the night what am I going to do ?????

Hi,
How are you? Do you have history of allergies? One differential include cluster headaches which presents with pain in vicinity of eye, nose congestion, and  flushing of face. Pain frequently develops during sleep and may last for several hours. This may occur every day for weeks then  disappear. Smoking and alcoholic beverage may exacerbate the symptoms. An eye or ENT doctor may also help.  Take care and do keep us posted.

Im going to see the eye doctor cause I feel so much pressure and the headache only comes to the right side of my body eyes, top of head scalp tenderness , ear like it has water in it , neck and pressure behind my ear and massage helps to move pain around my doctor seems to think its my blood pressure cause it wakes me up in the middle of the nite I thought when you sleep that is the more relaxing time but I guess not

I would suggest that it's probably time to see a specialist such as a neurologist instead of a GP (I'm guessing that's the Dr you saw before). Neurologists have much more information available to them, and will know how to tailor a treatment for you, instead of just the generally prescribed medication.
Good luck,

~Dame
