I'm so out of wack!

I am a 30 year old female. About a a year and a half back I had a major migraine. It lasted for 8 days and I was unable to get out of bed, move my head or barely open my eyes. After it subsided I felt like I had about a 3mo recovery time. My speech seemed to be affected. I was stuttering and had a difficult time concentrating. Reading was hard because I kept mixing up the words. Lots of bizzare things like that. Now the only problem that has been ongoing is since that migraine I seem to have developed allergies overnight, and it seems like I am having reactions to something different everday that never bothered me before. The allergies seem to be taking different forms. Sometimes, it is a skin allergy and I itch extreamly bad, mostly on my face and arms, sometimes it will be a migraine, and sometimes it is my eyes with a lot of swelling and feeling like they have sand in them and burning.I have tried to narrow down what might be triggering the allergies the second I figure one out it is like a new allergy appears! I am extreamely tired all of the time. The only thing consistant is that it isn't going away. Help! Please! I have no idea what to do.

I may be stretching my imagination, but your description reminds one of Angioedema (Hereditary Angioedema or Acquired)

But I don't know how you can suggest this to your treating doctor ! ;-)

Best of luck.

Hi,

The exact connection between allergies and migraines has not been worked out. It is known however that migraines are triggered by allergic and non allergic reactions towards food.
Allergic reactions are known to release histamine which causes dilatation of blood vessels resulting in migraine headaches.

It has also been found that allergy shots in people with migraine and allergies relieve migraine headaches.

You can discuss this with your treating doctor and make a note of all the thing that are triggering the allergic reaction.

Take care!
