Intercranial migraines?

I saw my neuro today and they want me to see a cardiologist. They want me checked for intracanial migraines. They want to do a TEE. I also have to have a MRI with gad as one has not been done in over a year. My last one showed some irregularities, looking like I may have had several small strokes. This is scary. I am trying to find out more info on intercranial hypertension and migraines. Any help would be appreacitied.

I am ok I guess. With all I have been through this should be a piece of cake, but it isnt. At first I thought why couldnt it be another tumor, at least I knew what to expect. This is all new territory for me and to be truthful I am scared.
They took 11 tubes of blood yesterday. I know they did those tests in the past and are repeating some of them. One was borderline, dont remember which though. The drs are leaning towards mini strokes with the posibility of a hole in my heart causing a bleed or a clot to travel to my brain. They have ruled out MS, lyme and lupus. I am currently on baby asprin for the past year and a half, as well as 4 different high blood pressure meds. now since Dec.
I will make sure I get all the test results from my blood work and the TEE. I have been getting my MRI and the MRA results. Another MRA of my brain is in the future after the TEE is done.
I just take each day as it comes. Nothing more I can do.
Thanks Vanessa.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. How are you?

Have they checked your coagulation factor levels (prothrombin time, aPTT and fibrinogen levels)? With this new finding, a diagnosis of intracranial hypertension may not be likely. It is best to discuss with your physician what they think of these lesions
(Is this a bleed, a nonspecific finding?).

Do keep us posted with your TEE results. Always request a copy of your results for future reference.

Let us all hope everything will turn out fine.

Well I had my MRI with gad done. I have another lesion on my brain, in a new place, right frontal. My TEE is scheduled for the 24th to make sure I dont have a hole in my heart.
Just wanted to update you.

Hi,

Intracranial hypertension or idiopathic intracranial hypertension have unclear causes .In your case, this is considered as a differential however, they are still trying to look into possible causes of your condition thus, TEE and MRI are being requested. A complete and thorough examination is needed before a diagnosis of idiopathic intracranial hypertension is given. Further tests will rely on the results of your TEE and MRI.

Keep us posted regarding your progress.
